Little Miss will be turning 1 next week! I can’t believe my little girl has been in our family a whole year already. We sure love having her as part of our family and so to honor her year, I wanted to do something fun. I decided to go with Pinwheels & Polk a Dots! To go along with our theme, I wanted to make a bunting that matched the color scheme.
Step 4:I got my iron hot and folded down the tops of the triangles about 1/2 inch and ironed it down. I just eye balled the 1/2 inch.
So all my triangles looked like this. As a side note, I am not a fan of ironing. But for this project, it made it go a lot faster.
Step 5:Using my 1/2 inch guide on my sewing machine, I sewed the triangles (with a semi straight stitch) leaving a space to thread my ribbon through at the top. Remember, I am not a pro so don’t look too closely at my finished product.
Step 6:After I sewed all my triangles, I was left with some not so pretty ends and threads. I cut them off so they lined up with the front side of the triangles.
So they look like these.
Step 7:Next I put a safety pin on the end of my ribbon and fed it through the tops of the triangles. I used a 3/8 inch ribbon. It fed through like a dream.
Gathered it as I went
Straightened it out and slide it along the ribbon.
Step 8:HANG IT UP!!! I think that I may need to put a stitch or two in the ends so that the bunting doesn’t slide off, but it turned out just like I wanted.
