I was provided a discounted rate for this post. But my opinions are 100% my own. We just love this gym.
So this summer was a pretty crazy one. We moved at the end of July, so I’ve been in packing, moving and unpacking mode. I still have boxes in every room that need to be unloaded. To say I’m a little behind in life is an understatement. Because of all the craziness, I knew that I wasn’t going to be able to do a big over the top for my birthday girl and boy. My son and daughter have birthdays a month a part. And yes that is not that close together, but I decided to combine their birthday parties to make it easier on myself. As I thought about what I wanted to do, I remembered that Great Play of Chandler, a gym for kids that the kids went to this summer, hosts birthday parties.
Great Play is a unique gym for kids that make it fun to develop fine motor skills, sports sills and coordination. They have classes for ages 6 months to 5th grade. Each class is designed with specific games/activities perfect for each age group. They have group classes, summer camps and their birthday parties are award winning!
Because my kids loved going to the summer camps, I thought they would love to invite all their friends to play with them at Great Play of Chandler. The staff is so easy to work with. Once the party was scheduled, they contacted me to go over details like theme, age group of the kids at the party and even got a picture of the kids that they displayed on their walls as the kids entered the gym. They loved seeing their picture on the wall!
When you schedule a birthday party at Great Play of Chandler, your group is the ONLY group there. The games are planned ahead of time based on the age group of the kids attending the party. Each kids enters the “arena” to music and clapping as their name is called and their picture is projected onto the wall so everyone can see them.
We had a huge age range, and the coaches did a great job at planning the activities to keep all the kids interested. There was a mixture of team activities, obstacle courses, individual activities and imaginative play. (no this is NOT dodge ball, they had to knock down the white pins behind the other team)
One of my favorite things they have (and the kids love them too) is the interactive throwing walls. The kids loved knocking down the bottles.
At the end of the party, there is an awards ceremony and each of the kids are given a gold medal with the birthday kid(s) on the tallest spot.
You decide if you want to do any type of food while you are there. I wanted the kids to get as much play time as possible so we just did cake. I brought the cake that I had ordered from a bakery, but they do have a couple venders they work with that you get a discount if you order through them. Great Play provided the plates, napkins, table cloths, and utensils. All I had to do was bring the cake, candles and lighter. I did bring juice boxes, but you could always just do water and they have cups.
Because we had a joint birthday party we had to have 2 cakes. We had a princess cake of course for little missy.
My son wanted a lego party and you can’t really order anything lego for a birthday party. So I ordered a plain birthday cake and my son made a double decker couch and that was our cake decorations!
The kids had cake and juice and then we were ready to go. We packed up the presents to open at home, loaded up the rest of the cake and left. Leaving all the mess for the Great Play staff to clean up!
The coaches were so awesome with the kids. They kept them engaged, safe and laughing throughout the party. I loved that I had to do very little for my kids to have an enjoyable, memorable birthday party. I think the other kids had just as much fun and hopefully the moms and dads enjoyed the day too.
Great Play of Chandler has classes all year long, but they also have fun camps during the summer and during different school breaks. They are always having kids nights in when the kids can go and play on weekend nights. There is always something going on there. They do offer a free trial class if you’d like to check it out for yourself. Just contact them to get information on that.
The kids had so much fun and are still talking about it. Great Play of Chandler really is a great place for a Birthday Party!
