ANAHEIM:
As you know, we are huge Disney fans in my family. Disneyland is right in the heart of Anaheim and it is the ultimate family-friendly destination! There is a lot going on at Disneyland this summer like, Summer of Heroes, opening May 27 th , Season of the Force and the Main Street Electrical Parade, which has been extended through August 20 th. The Main Street Electrical Parade takes me back to my childhood!
If you want to stretch your trip a few extra days you can always head to Universal Studios Hollywood. While you’re there, make sure to check out the Wizarding world of Harry Potter and buy a chocolate frog and a frozen butterbeer.
The beach is a great place for a family summer vacation. Our family loves the beach. We could spend days and days at the beach. When I say we, I mean me and the kids. 🙂 My hubby would rather go to the mountains.
If a more relaxed vacation is what your family is looking for this summer, then San Diego is the perfect spot for you. Incredible beaches, great shopping, the San Diego Zoo, the San Diego Zoo Safari Park and Sea World San Diego are all within a few miles drive. If you have young kids and are headed to Sea World, here are 5 things you must do with young kids at Sea World. The weather in San Diego is beautiful too!
We are planning on taking the kids to the San Diego Zoo this year. I hear it’s really amazing and can’t wait to check it out!
CARLSBAD:
Located right between Anaheim and San Diego, Carlsbad is home to LEGOLAND California and makes the perfect family vacation spot, especially if you have younger kids. Summer is a particularly great time to visit LEGOLAND because not only can you visit the main park as well as the Sea Life Aquarium, but the LEGOLAND Water Park is also open so the Hopper ticket makes it really easy to visit all three parks. I also hear staying at the LEGOLAND Hotel, their themed rooms really elevate your LEGO experience! Legoland is definitely on our list this year too!
ORLANDO:
Disney World is a perfect spot to take your family! It’s bigger than Disneyland and has four different parks within the resort: Magic Kingdom Park, Epcot, Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park. You’ll want to factor in a couple extra days so you can experience all the magic it has to offer.
If Disney World is in your budget I highly recommend making the trip. Check out these tips for planning a Disney World Vacation with kids. We had such a fun time when we took our kids.
Cruises are another great option for families to consider when planning a vacation. With so many options on destinations and cruise lines, I’m sure you will find the perfect fit for your family. Not only are they relaxing, but there are so many on board activities, in addition to the different excursions that are available at each destination. There are also multiple kids’ clubs available on most cruise lines for children of all ages to have fun while their parents relax. If you are thinking a Disney Cruise, I’ve got 20 tips for planning a Disney Cruise you gotta check out.
