Whip up this DIY Halloween wreath in under 30 minutes for a quick decoration to add to your front door.
I wasn’t planning on making a Halloween wreath this year, but my cousin showed me her cute wreath she made last year and it inspired me to make a new DIY Halloween wreath for my door this year. And this wreath was super easy to make. It took me about 30 minutes to put it all together and I didn’t even have to use any hot glue or anything.
After a quick trip to the craft store, I used some black shimmer metallic spray paint, and did one coat of spray paint on a large grapevine wreath. I didn’t want it too dark, but you could always do more coats or even use plain black spray paint on your wreath.
Since it was only one coat of paint, it dried very quickly. While at the craft store I picked up some fun Halloween accents in different colors and textures I thought would look good in a wreath. I first found the ribbon I wanted to use to hang my wreath, and then I found items that worked in that color scheme.
I used some wire cutters and cut apart all the accents so they were easy to work with. Once they were all cut apart, I simply stuck the ends into the grapevine wreath where I wanted them to go. I started with the larger black feathery pieces first since I knew I wanted them in the back. Then added the orange, the green and lastly the purple flowers.
Originally I was going to add a large bow in the spot where I added the flowers. But I ended up loving the flowers in that spot, so I left out the bow.
I used my polka dot ribbon and hung it from a nail on my front door. The ribbon brings everything together.
I think it’s the perfect, non scary, DIY Halloween wreath. What made it even better was that all the accents were on sale! So it wasn’t too expensive to make either.
Since this wreath was so easy to make, I’m excited to start thinking of wreaths to make for fall and Christmas.
Happy Crafting!
