In October I celebrated my 2 year blogiversary! Oh, wait, what was that? You didn’t hear about it? Well that’s because I didn’t mention it until now. The reason being is that I had some behind the scenes work going on here at the blog and wanted to do everything at once. Which has been pretty crazy and pretty exciting all at the same time!
When I first started Lizzie Jane Baby it was back in 2009 it was as a side business for my mother in law and I to sell baby items. At the time I had a new baby and was working full time outside of the home. So Lizzie Jane Baby didn’t go anywhere. Then after I had baby #2 I was able to stay at home with my little ones. And in 2011 when my kids were a little older, I decided to make Lizzie Jane Baby into my creative lifestyle blog. (That’s where the 2 years comes from.)
I named it Lizzie Jane Baby as a combo of names and because we were trying to sell baby items. I don’t feel like that name fits with my blog anymore so I have decided to rebrand.
Not only am I rebranding, but over the last year I’ve been thinking about making the switch from being a blogger hosted blog to a self hosted wordpress blog. I’ve heard lots of great things about wordpress and the benefits for bloggers as far as owning my content, search engine optimization and getting your content seen easier. I’ve enjoyed using blogger and have had no issues with it thus far. My one gripe is that I can’t reply to all comments. Simply because there is no email attached to the commenter. I’m hoping I can engage more with my readers with my new word press site.
Now don’t think those pins and bookmarks for Lizzie Jane Baby won’t work anymore. I have been working with Courtney from Sweet C’s Designs to transfer all of my content from Lizzie Jane Baby and redirect all pins and links to go to the new site.
So are you ready to find out about the new brand?
Will now be…….
I hope you find the new site easy to use and navigate.
Liz on Call will have the same great content:
crafts, kid crafts, recipes, printables, etc.
But I feel it will represent me better. Since after all, as a mom, I’m on call for everything! 🙂
Please be patient with me as I’m going through the switch over. It may take a couple days to get everything running smoothly.
Thank you all so much for your support for the last 2 years!
