Since the summer began my son son has been asking his dad to build him a lemonade stand.  I don’t know where he saw one or why he had the idea, but one day he asked his dad to build him one.  We have been super busy and I started to realize that the summer was almost over.  I decided we should have a stand of some sort and thought a popsicle stand would be really fun, plus I’m really loving popsicles right now!  Last week we held our popsicle stand and even though it was super hot and humid, we had a good turn out!  So I thought I’d share some tips and printables for your littles to have their own popsicle stand.

The kids loved helping me set up the table and bringing all the fun things out to our table.  The hard part was waiting for the customers.  We did wait for about 15 minutes before we had any customers.  Mr. C was about ready to give up!

So my first tip would be to invite people to come to your popsicle stand.  I created an invitation that we printed and cut out to take around the neighborhood and to our friends and family so they knew we were having a stand and when to stop by.  You can attach them to doors, or knock on the door and ask people to come as you hand out your invites.  It’s hard to say no to cute kids who ask “please come to my popsicle stand”. 😉

My next tip would be to have a variety of items.  Yes our focus was on popsicles and we had a good selection of popsicles, but we had lots of other options for people who might not love popsicles but love cookies!

It’s also good to have the price for items visible.  My son would tell people that things cost 50 bucks, not 50 cents.  And hey if they wanted to pay 50 bucks for a popsicle, we would’ve taken it!

We wanted to make sure there was something for people to drink too.  So Mr. C got his lemonade after all!  We also had a cooler with water for those who were thirsty but not for lemonade.

Having adorable sales people also helps sales! 🙂  Remember how I mentioned the “please come to my popsicle stand”.  How could you resist??!!

Having a bright and colorful display is not a must, but it makes it fun!  I just used the kids table from their bedroom and my paint chip popsicle banner for our display.  Made some fun chalkboard art and some colorful candy and printable signs for our stand.  It’s not super over the top and fancy, but using things I already had around the house made it fun and special.

Of course they had to test the merchandise to make sure it was quality.  We kept the popsicles in the freezer in our garage and I cut the pictures off the boxes so that people could see what popsicles we were selling.

W also made a simple money box.  Every stand needs a money holder of some kind.  I just printed a big picture of a popsicle and glued it onto the top of a small shoe box.

I’m sharing all these fun popsicle stand prints with you today with the prices we used and with out the prices so you can make up your own price list.  These printables are for personal use only.  Just click on the download you want below:

My last few tips for a popsicle stand are:

have a trash can for wrappers,

have wet wipes for popsicles that run down arms and create sticky hands,

remember to have a variety of items for sale,

offer something to drink,

and make sure to have a place to hold all the money!

We also had chairs set up and an easy up so our customers had a place to sit, get out of the sun and enjoy their treats.  It also meant they stand longer and bought more. 😉

My most favorite part was listening to baby sis inside the house talking and patting on the door as we were setting up the stand.  She wanted to check out what we were doing outside and was just tall enough to peek through the window in the door to see us.  So cute!  (Please excuse my dirty front door.)

The kids had so much fun selling treats to their friends and family that they want to do it again.  Now that we know how and have the stuff, I think we will try it one last time before school starts!

Happy Selling!

Liz
