Our home life is pretty hectic right now. We are gearing up to move next month and I’ve got so many things on my mind (and plate) that I feel like I’ve been slacking in my paper crafting. I really enjoy paper crafting and don’t feel like I do enough of it. I have been wanting to make something fun for summer and popsicles are just so on my mind right now, that I decided to make a popsicle banner. And what I love about this project even more is that it was absolutely free! This paint chip popsicle banner is sounding better every minute! 🙂
I don’t know if you’re like me, but when I go to the hardware store, I always cruise by the paint chip aisle. It’s usually to see what colors I think I want to paint the rooms in my house. So you never know what colors I might end up with. Well I was cleaning out my purse last week and found these paint chip samples in the bottom of my bag. I thought they were such fun colors, perfect for a summer project.
I put together the colors that i wanted together to make my popsicles. I decided to go with darker colors as the back layer and lighter colors for the top layers of my popsicles. I created a free popsicle cut file that you can download and use to make this paint chip popsicle banner at home.
I used my silhouette cameo to cut out my popsicle pieces.
I then glued all the pieces together and attached the sticks to the back of the popsicles. I used white glue so I gave the popsicles time to dry and even covered them with a book because some of them were starting to curl.
After I punched small holes on each side of the popsicles, I strung them onto some bakers twine so I could hang them on my front door.
My paint chip popsicle banner goes perfectly with my mini summer banner on my wreath.
I love how bright and cheerful this banner is!
It certainly feels like summer to me! Now it’s back to the packing and purging to begin! FYI moving in July in AZ is not the best idea. :/
Happy Summer!
