Banners are such an easy way to add some personality to your holiday decorations. I like that they are easy to make, quick to change out, and don’t really cost a lot to make. I thought I’d create this simple banner for fall for my entry way. Fall is my most favorite season to decorate for. I just love all those fall colors.
To make this fall banner you will need:
Brown cardstock
Cream cardstock
Tombow Mono Permanent Adhesive
Thermo Web Deco Foil in Gold
Tombow Adhesive Tabs
Twine
Hole punch
To get started on my fall banner, I used my Cricut Explore Air 2 to cut out my cardstock. You can use this Cricut Design Space Project to cut out your own banner. All you have to do is click make it, load your mat with the brown cardstock first to cut out the pennant banner. Then load the cream cardstock to cut the rectangles for the words. The next step is to sketch your letters. Then trace over the letters with the Tombow adhesive.
Once all the letters have been traced with the Tombow adhesive, cover the letter with the deco foil. The way to use the deco foil is to place the back side down onto the adhesive, with the gold side up. Then use a scraper, and using pressure, scrap the surface on top of the deco foil. As you scrap across the foil, you will notice the gold foil coming away and attaching to the adhesive.
Then just peel up the deco foil to reveal your covered letter.
Attach the gold lettered cardstock to the brown cardstock using the Tombow adhesive tabs. I liked using the tabs to give it a little dimension.
Once all the pennants are completed, punch holes in the corners and use bakers twine to string your letters.
This DIY gold foil fall banner can go on a mantle or above a door or really anywhere.
So who’s ready to get their fall decorating on?
Happy Crafting!
