One of my favorite things to make for my kids are custom t-shirts. In this tutorial I show you how to make a custom t-shirt with the Cricut Explore Air 2.
Even though we don’t have a Disney trip coming up, I couldn’t resist making these cute Disney T-shirts for my kids. I made one as a gift a couple weeks ago and it turned out so cute, I needed to make more! I’ve been learning how to create different projects with the Cricut Explore Air 2, and since creating custom t-shirts is one of my favorite things to do, I learned how to make a custom t-shirt as one of my first projects.
I had so much fun creating them, and it was pretty easy, so I thought I’d share this tutorial so you can make your own custom t-shirts for your kids (or for yourself).
I buy plain t-shirts when ever I can find them at a good price. Usually Hobby Lobby, Michael’s or even Walmart are the places I find my t-shirts. I have a stack of plain t-shirts on my desk all the time. You never know when you might need to make a custom t-shirt for your last minute Disney trip! 😉
When it comes time to iron on your vinyl, iron on the black (or whatever color you decide to use for the castle) first. Make sure your iron isn’t on too hot and the steam is off. Press firmly with your iron as you go over the plastic cover of the vinyl for about 1 minute. Once it’s cooled, peel off the plastic cover. If the vinyl starts coming up, lay the plastic down and iron it again.
Then you can add the glitter vinyl. Place the glitter vinyl where you want it to go, and iron it onto the shirt. Remove the plastic cover when it is cooled. Some of the glitter stuck to the black vinyl, but I love the effect!

I loved pairing our new Disney t-shirts with this Minnie Mouse headband we made a few years ago and they would look super cute with these simple Minnie Mouse skirts I made for the girls.
Happy Crafting!
