The first crush workshop was held on February 4 2016 in Phoenix, AZ and was a huge success. See all the details of our hand lettering workshop.
A few months ago I was talking to my friends Erin and Laura about putting together a craft night. We talked about what we wanted to do for our craft night and there were so many things that we were loving that we thought maybe hosting a couple workshops throughout the year would be fun. We decided to call our workshop Crush Workshop and we would teach whatever we were “crushing” on at the moment. We are really loving the hand lettering that is so popular right now so we decided our first workshop would be hand lettering.
The workshop turned out to be a great success. Because this was our first workshop, we had a short time to put it together and didn’t know what to expect, we decided to hold it in my garage. It sounds crazy I know, but we transformed the garage into a beautiful space to fit all the attendees and have a fun time.
The tables looked lovely and we had some yummy treats. Kate Eschbach provided our beautiful photography showcasing all the details. And we couldn’t have done it without our wonderful sponsor Frys Food Stores who helped us bring our vision together.
Something that we thought would be fun and different for the Crush Workshop, along with the “main event” (the hand lettering for this first workshop), were a couple of mini demos. Laura shared how to make chocolate hearts to add to cupcakes. She provided everyone with everything they needed to go home and make their own chocolate hearts for Valentine’s Day. I wanted to share my tips on how to make party punch and also made a special Raspberry Crush Party Punch for the Workshop. Then we finished the night with Erin teaching us how to do hand lettering. Sending everyone home with worksheets, a workbook, cards and envelopes to go home and create special love notes for their Valentines showcasing the hand lettering skills they learned at the workshop.
Here are just a few of the talents these ladies have with hand lettering!
I have to say my favorite part was the popcorn bar. Laura created 6 different flavorings to sprinkle on the popcorn, along with yummy add ins, so everyone could create their own salty or sweet snack while they worked.
We love how everything came together and it wouldn’t have happened with out these ladies!
We had such a fun time learning, sharing and getting to mingle with all those who attended our very first Crush Workshop!
We are working on putting together the next workshop and would love for you to be there! Make sure and sign up for our newsletter so you will be one of the first to get all the details of our next Crush Workshop.
Hoping to see you soon!
