Ok confession time. I HATE laundry. It is my least favorite household chore. I’ve been teaching my kids to help with the laundry which has been a huge help in getting the task done.
Maybe you’re feelings are like mine, and laundry isn’t your favorite either. I created this DIY Laundry sign in hopes of making my laundry room a little more inviting.
Not sure that it will help, but it sure looks cute at any rate. 🙂
To make this project you will need:
Once you’ve gathered all the supplies, download the free laundry cut file found towards the end of the post. Upload the design to Cricut Design Space. Since we will be using iron-on vinyl, make sure to mirror image the design before cutting.
Place the iron on vinyl face down, or shiny side down, onto your cutting mat. Load the mat into the machine. Choose the material you’ll be using in Cricut Design Space and press the go button to cut out the design.

How To Make A Reverse Canvas
While the Maker is cutting the vinyl, prepare the canvas. Turn the canvas over and use a knife to cut the canvas from the wooden frame.
Once the vinyl is cut, unload it from the machine and weed out any unwanted parts of the design. Place the vinyl onto the canvas and figure out where to place it so it will be centered on the canvas in the frame.

Set the EasyPress 2 to the correct setting for canvas. Place the canvas with the vinyl onto the EasyPress mat. Lay the EasyPress 2 onto the canvas and press for the amount of time required.
Check the EasyPress settings on the Cricut website. The Cricut Heat Guide is super easy to use.

Remove the protect plastic sheet from the top of the vinyl once it has been pressed. Place the canvas onto the wood frame. Use a stapler to secure the canvas to the back of the frame.

Use scissors to trim off the excess canvas once it has been stapled and secured to the wood.

And now it’s ready to display. On a shelf, a counter or even hung on a wall, this sign will surely brighten up your laundry room.
