I have been blessed with kids and a husband who recognize and spoil me on Mother’s Day. Not everyone is as lucky as I am, I know that. But I’ve also decided instead of waiting around hoping they will spoil me, I just outright tell them what I want.
I’ve learned it’s best just to tell my husband what I expect or want, instead of being disappointed because they have forgotten or didn’t plan ahead. We aren’t mind readers over here, and I think it’s ok for us to tell each other exactly what we want.
Being spoiled on Mother’s Day doesn’t always mean a big gift or flowers or a day of pampering. It’s usually the simple things I enjoy. Like not only having dinner made by someone else, but them also doing the dishes instead of piling them up in the sink for me to do the next day.
Handmade gifts are some of my favorite things. I like to keep all the little things my kids make at school and display them where I can. I even like to make handmade gifts for my mom even though I’m a bit older than school age these days.
