Prophet Photo Canvas

A few weeks ago I was in charge of a big craft day for the women of our church.  It was called Super Saturday and we had about 10 projects that the women could sign up for to come down to the church to make.  I was responsible for 2 of the 10 crafts and one of them was this photo canvas of the Prophet.
This is a really easy project, but takes a little time because there is painting and mod podging that has to dry.  But the look is great and professional when it is all completed.  I think it would make a great gift for the ladies you visit teach or even for family members.  Plus this can be made under $10!
Here are the supplies you will need to make this:
8×10 photo canvas
8×10 picture of the prophet
I found mine HERE – You will have to trim it on the sides so it will fit the canvas
spray adhesive
black acrylic paint & paint brush
mod podge & paint brush

The first thing you need to do is paint the sides of your canvas with the black paint.  You also want to paint about 1/2 inch onto the canvas around the edges.  (I let my kids actually do some of this painting part and they painted the top, the sides the back and it didn’t cause any problems, so don’t worry if you think you’ll mess this up.  You can’t.)
Once the paint is dry, use the spray adhesive to attach the picture to the canvas.  Make sure and get the corners and edges really good with the adhesive.  I actually turned my over and pressed down on the back to make sure and get a good seal.
I gave it about 20 minutes to make sure picture was adhered to the canvas, and then I used a foam brush and some mod podge to cover the entire picture.  It gives it a professional look and it’s easier to dust!
If you wanted to make a couple at a time, just line them up and do an assembly line!
I think this is such a good picture of our President Monson and will be cherished by anyone who receives it.
Happy Crafting!

can you email me a copy of the version with your font/quote on it. I am coping this project for our super saturday this year & the link you send us to is just a empty picture. I tried to recreate but none of my fonts looks good enough…so i was hoping that i could just get a copy of your finished project.

    Thanks, Jami

Hi! I love your Pres. Monson canvas project and was hoping to make one for my home! I found the pic and downloaded it and have tried adding the words in photoshop and I am just not loving it as much as I like yours. Would you mind telling me the font you used or even better send me the jpg. you printed from? Thanks a bunch,
    Miranda
