Hand lettering has become one of my most favorite hobbies.  I’ve been hand lettering for 4 years now and have improved immensely since starting. Even though I’ve been doing it for a long time, practice is still a big part in my hand lettering journey.  I’ve found that when I’ve gone a few weeks with out practicing, it takes me a lot longer to get back into it.

Coming up with words or phrases always seem to be the hardest part when it comes to lettering practice.  But around the holidays it seems to be a bit easier.  There are always festive words, phrases or song lyrics that are perfect for hand lettering practice.

Bushel and A Peck Hand Lettering Practice Sheets

These free printable hand lettering practice sheets were created using some of my favorite pens.  These practice sheets work best with the Tombow Dual Brush Pens.

There are 2 ways I like to use practice sheets.  One way is to print them on HP Premium Laser Jet paper and then trace directly onto the pages.  DO NOT use regular printer paper to write on.  The rough texture will tear up the tips of the pens and they will fray and won’t give you crisp lines.  The other way is to cover the practice sheets with Marker Paper or Tracing Paper.  You’ll be able to see the practice sheets underneath.  Plus you’ll be able to use them again and again.
