It’s no secret that we love Disney over here. We (or at least I) have our next trip on the back of our minds all the time. To help keep up the excitment of an impending Disney adventure, I made this Disney Dollar jar that we use to collect all our loose change. Sometimes it gets filled with dollars as well. If we have a garage sale, or a popsicle stand, the kids like to put their money into our savings jar.
In planning a trip to the parks, we like to not just have our fun spending money in our Disney jar, we like to actually save money when the time comes to purchase tickets and hotel accomodations. We like to use Get Away Today to plan our trips to Disney. They often have amazing offers like 4th or 5th night free on hotel stays, and discounted tickets. They guarantee they will get you the best price when it comes to splurging on a trip to Disneyland. This Disney Dollars Savings Jar is a great way to kick your Disney park planning off to a super exciting start.
Disney Dollars Savings Jar
To make this Disney Dollars Savings Jar you will need:
Window Cling or a different color adhesive vinyl
Download and unzip the Disney Dollars cut file, and upload the SVG file into Cricut Design space. Once the design is inserted onto the design canvas, resize the design to fit your jar. Click make it and the design will be ready to cut. You will have two mats. One with Disney Dollars and Mickey Heads. I cut this out of black adhesive vinyl. Then the other mat you can cut out, or not. I decided to go with window cling since I wanted to have a little bit of contrast from the black vinyl. Just choose a contrasting color of vinyl, and select the correct material before cutting.
You can watch the facebook live where I make this project if video tutorials are easier to follow along.
If you don’t have a cutting machine, but still want to make a Disney Dollars jar, you can purchase the vinyl to make your own in my shop!
Once everything is cut, weed out the parts of the black vinyl that are not part of the design.
Cover the black vinyl design with transfer tape, remove the paper backing and place it onto the window cling. Give it a good rubbing so it will stick to the window cling, then remove the transfer tape.
Place the design onto your jar.
Use the Mickey heads to decorate the jar.
To finish off the Disney Dollars Savings Jar, add some cute ribbon around the top of the jar.
Then it’s time to start saving! We add our coins and sometimes even dollars into our savings jar.
My kids loved going and cashing in all our coins for real dollars to spend on our last trip to Walt Disney World.
If you have Disney on the brain, I recommend checking out Get Away Today. I book all my Disney travel through them. They are the best when it comes to traveling in the magic.

It’s funny that 20 years a my son bought me a ducky bank and that’s when I started to save dimes. They definitely add up fast. But I didn’t think about saving for a family trip. That’s a Awesome idea.
