We partnered with Jake’s Unlimited to bring you the ultimate gaming party. All opinions are 100% my own.
Looking for tween boy birthday party ideas? This Ultimate Gaming Party was a hit with my now tween boy and his birthday party guests. I’ve got all the details and free printables to help you plan your tween boy birthday party.
I can NOT believe my son is now 10! There are days that I feel like I’m not old enough to have a 10-year-old, and other days I feel way older than I am. The last month as we have been preparing for my son to hit double digits, I knew I wanted to throw him a birthday party. We don’t always throw our kids birthday parties for their birthdays, but 10 is a big deal to me, and so I started planning.
My son likes gaming, put doesn’t have one specific game that he likes to play more than others. I know his friends also like gaming. So the Ultimate Gaming Party sounded like an awesome theme for his 10th birthday.
I reached out to Jake’s Unlimited here in the east valley of Phoenix, to help host my son’s birthday. Jake’s Unlimited has so many fun things to do, for kids both big and small. And by big kids, I mean adults. 😉 There is bowling, mini bowling, rides, attractions, arcades and laser tag.
Ultimate Gaming Party
They have several birthday party packages available to fit every budget and schedule. You can party and play for a few hours or all day! For your party you get time to eat in your designated party room, which they set up and have ready for your arrival.
Our awesome party host helped serve the kids pizza and kept their drinks refilled. The party not only comes with pizza for the party guests, but guests have access to the awesome all you can eat buffet. The buffet wasn’t just for the adults. The kids were allowed to visit the buffet as well. Which includes all you can eat ice cream. The boys really loved that.
Jake’s Unlimited allows you to bring your own party decorations and make the party room your own as well. I wanted to have a really bright and fun dessert table to match the ultimate gaming party theme we had for the party. They allowed me to bring in my own cake, cookies, balloons, treats and more. I created a fun “Power Up Here” station for all those hungry boys so they were ready for all the gaming that was about to happen.
After all the fun in the party room, the boys were let loose to have all the fun. They played laser tag (twice), they rode the rides, the bumper cars, played arcade games, did mini bowling and ate ALL the ice cream cones they could. I have to say that the mini bowling is just about the cutest thing I’ve ever seen! The kids loved it! The lanes are shorter, the balls are lighter and smaller, there are bumpers in the gutter and there are only 5 frames. Perfect for kids. I know some adults who would love it too.
My daughters and husband even got in on the fun of Jake’s Unlimited.
Jake’s Unlimited Birthday Party
The boys could’ve played all night. When it was time to cash in the tickets on their playing cards, it was like herding cats to try to round them all up in the Bonus room. My son said it was the best ever! The boys were at the perfect age that I felt comfortable enough to make sure they each had a buddy and I let them go and have fun. There was one point in the evening that I saw them all crowded into one of the arcade games watching one of the other boys play.
As I mentioned, Jake’s Unlimited has several Birthday Party packages. We enjoyed the Boss Package. This can be for an ALL DAY party. With the Boss package we had unlimited Buffet, unlimited rides and attractions, unlimited laser tag, 1 game of mini bowling, 1 game of bowling with shoe rental, unlimited video games, $10 fun card /per party guest, 1000 prize tickets for birthday child (this may have been one of my son’s favorite things), 2 FREE adult admissions and Jake’s After Dark Certificate (which allows 6 people to come back for bowling after 8pm at a later date). This package is for 10 party guests, including the birthday child. Additional guests and adults can be added for an additional fee.
DEAL ALERT!! Jake’s Unlimited has so graciously offered you, $100 off the BOSS Party package. Use the code: LIZONCALL to get $100 off the ALL DAY Boss birthday Party package! You guys!! This is an amazing deal! I’d start planning a birthday party ASAP!
You don’t have to wait to be invited to or host a birthday party to play at Jake’s Unlimited. They have all-inclusive per person packages available so a group of friends could go and bowl, or play laser tag and eat at the buffet any day of the week. They always are having specials and promotions all year round! Some of them are ladies nights, football season, October break specials and friday family fun night. Each of these promotions come with discounted rates and guaranteed fun times.
Free Gaming Party Printables
Whenever I am hosting or planning a party, I tend to create my own party printables. With this ultimate gaming party theme, my plan was no different. I created a free gaming party printable pack that includes the basic things to get ready and decorate for a gaming party. In this free gaming party printable pack I’ve got party invitations, food labels for your food table, GAME ON party banner, and tags for goody bags. These party printables are easy to print out, cut apart and use for your ultimate gaming party.

Since I was already creating printables for the party, I knew my dessert station at Jake’s Unlimited would need some extra flair. Like I mentioned, my son likes gaming, but doesn’t have a specific game that he absolutely loves. Which made it really fun for me to just create some fun stuff. And because there are so many gaming options at Jake’s Unlimited, it gave me a lot of freedom.
I knew he would love laser tag and kept that the focus of the cake. Using targets, laser tag guns and glow sticks to decorate the cake. Since they would be playing arcade games I couldn’t NOT do Pack Man. That is a classic! Along with some Super Mario printables. And bowling is big at Jake’s Unlimited so I created some bowling pin printables as well. I brought them all together at our dessert station that was anchored by a big POWER UP HERE poster.
The party decorations came together so great, I loved that I had that option when booking our party through Jake’s Unlimited. Just look at that smile on the birthday boy! 🙂
