I finally busted out the Valentine craft stuff and got busy with a little project.
This project was perfect to do with my little ones.
When I told my son we were going to make love bugs, he immediately told me he didn’t like bugs. I assured him he would like these bugs. And he sure did!
I gathered all my supplies:
toilet paper rolls
glue (hot glue/craft glue)
washi tape
foam heart stickers
google eyes
pompoms
pipe cleaners
(all these things I bought last year after Valentine’s day and had on hand)
I let the kids pick out the colors they wanted to use for everything and let them go to work.
I did do some of it for them. I hot glued the pompoms onto the pipe cleaners and then hot glued them to the inside of the tube.
I also cut out some hearts from a scrap of felt and hot glued them onto the back of each bug so they would have wings.
I put craft glue on the eyes and they put the eyes and nose on to their bugs.
They loved all the stickers and tape.
There is no wrong way to make these!
They did such a good job and had so much fun.
It’s the perfect afternoon craft!
They turned out so cute I decided to use them in my Valentine decor this year.
You’ll have to come back next week to see how I used them!
Happy Crafting!
