Now that the super bowl is over, we are in full on Valentine’s Day mode over here! We had a big super bowl party at our house this weekend and had a lot of fun. But I’m ready to switch gears. Over the last couple of years I’ve enjoyed decorating for Valentine’s Day. I was really excited to decorate this year because I got to do a Valentine’s Day mantel! It was really easy to put together.
Part of the reason this mantel was easy to put together is because I used a lot of the same elements from my Christmas mantel. I love the fact that both Christmas and Valentine’s incorporate the color red. It just so happens to be my favorite color, so I love using it in my decorating.
I kept the green wreath as my focal point and since I had used white and red ribbon to hang it, there was no need to change it out! I also kept the red and white polka dot plant and the books. I love the addition of a little green to all the pink and red.
In my red frame, I changed out the Let it Snow printable with a family picture. Our red and gray color scheme for our pictures was a perfect addition to the red frame. Plus I loved including a picture of those I love most in my Valentine’s Day mantel. Isn’t that what the holiday is all about?!?! 🙂
I found this really cute felt heart chain at Hobby Lobby and added it to my white backdrop. I also found the red heart shaped box and thought the glitter added a fun touch.
I added my Love you More free printable to a red frame and add it to make the mantel look a little more balanced.
For the banner, I took heart doilies from the dollar store and strung them on some bakers twine. I’ve done this in years past and it is such an inexpensive trick.
See how easy it was to turn my Christmas mantel into a Valentine’s Day mantel. Not only was it simple, it probably cost less than $10 to add some lovely touches.
Are you decorating for Valentine’s Day?
Happy Decorating!

Love your mantel!! I think the green wreath in the center balances it out. Love the heart chain garland. Love it all! Great job!!
Thanks Crystal!
I love your mantel! It’s got enough red and pink to qualify for Valentine’s, but once that has passed, take off the buntings, and you’ve got a regular mantel with a lovely photo of your family, suitable for any time of year! 😀
Thanks! That is a great idea for an anytime of the year mantel!
