When it comes to home decor, I love having touches of DIY in every room.  Some touches come from large DIY projects, but my favorites are the small DIY projects made to add charm and character to the room.

I have been working on fixing up my daughter’s bedroom, and creating a space for them that they are going to love and utilize.  Making wall art and creating projects to display on shelves and dressers is what I’ve found to be the best way to add touches of character to their room.  I had my daughter help pick out some things she loved to make this 30 minute DIY wood sign for her room.

30 Minute DIY Wood Sign

To make this sign you will need:

Basswood Canvas

Gorilla Super Glue Brush & Nozzle

Scrapbook Paper

Cut Out Wood Heart (or design of your choice)

Flip over the basswood canvas.  The backside of the canvas will give a framed look to our DIY wood sign.

Paint a light coat of gray paint on the outside edges of the basswood canvas.  You don’t have to be too careful when painting the inside of the “frame”.  If some of it gets on the inside, no worries, it will be covered up.

While letting the paint dry, trim the scrapbook paper to fit inside the basswood canvas.

Use the brush end of the Gorilla Super Glue to attach the paper to the inside of the wood canvas.  The new Gorilla Super Glue Brush & Nozzle can be foundat hardware and home center stores nationwide. The brush achieved the edge to edge coverage needed to really get the paper smooth and secure. Brighten up any room in your home in no time at all with this 30 minute DIY wood sign. Smooth the paper down on the inside of the wood canvas and in just a few seconds it is dry and ready to move onto the next step.

To attach the wood heart, use the nozzle tip and put a nice precise line of Gorilla Super Glue Brush & Nozzle on the back.Brighten up any room in your home in no time at all with this 30 minute DIY wood sign. No hammer and nails required for this easy DIY.

Place it onto the scrapbook paper and lightly press it down to create a good seal.  No need to use a clamp to hold it in place.  It’s ready to hang, or place on your shelf or dresser in just seconds.

While we had the Gorilla Super Glue out, we fixed the broken horn on my daughter’s unicorn piggy bank too.
