Pixar Pier Opening
The moment we’ve all been waiting for is finally coming to California Adventure on June 23rd, 2018. The old Paradise Pier area will now become, Pixar Pier. Pixar Pier will consist of four new neighborhoods, that each represent a famous Disney-Pixar movie. These areas will focus on the Incredibles, Toy Story, Inside Out and an area dedicated to a variety of Pixar stories. The Incredibles neighborhood will feature the Incredicoaster, which was formerly known as California Screamin’. On this newly-themed high-speed adventure, you’ll be able to help Mr. and Mrs. Incredible on their mission to catch Jack-Jack. In addition to the thrills, you’ll also be able to experience a new queuing area themed after your favorite superhero family as well. I can’t wait to see the new themeing coming to this fan favorite ride.
We are super excited that one of our favorite attractions on the Pier will remain. The Toy-Story neighborhood will continue to be home to the fan-favorite attraction, Toy Story Mania, as well as new character experiences and Jessie’s Critter Carousel scheduled to debut in 2019. Additionally, the Inside Out neighborhood will have character meet and greets as well as a new attraction that has yet to be announced. While Disney hasn’t announced all of the changes they are making to this area yet, we’re sure it’s going to be “Incredibly” exciting!
New Dining Experiences
As a part of Pixar Pier, guests will be able to experience several new food options around every corner. Some of the new quick service kiosks will include Poultry Palace, Angry Dogs, Adorable Snowman Frosted Treats and Señor Buzz Churros. Plus, what’s a day at Disneyland without some delicious candy? You’ll be able to satisfy your sweet-tooth at Bing Bong’s Sweet Stuff Confectionary.
Perhaps the most exciting dining experience coming to Pixar Pier will be the Lamplight Lounge. This casual and sleek area will serve gastro-pub cuisine inspired by California culture. The best part? The Lamplight Lounge will continue to serve the beloved Lobster Nachos. However, this isn’t going to just be a restaurant area. This lounge will be home to concept art, sketches and knick-knacks that Pixar storytellers have left throughout the space. With waterfront views and delicious fares, the Lamplight Lounge is sure to become one of the best hang-out spots in California Adventure.
Plans for “a bug’s land”
Disney just announced that “a bug’s land” is going to be exterminated at the end of summer 2018. While we’re saddened to hear about this adorable land leaving, Disney announced that it plans to use this space as a new land devoted to Marvel comic characters. This new Marvel area is slated to open in 2020, so if you’re wanting to ride Francis’ Ladybug Boogie or Heimlich’s Chew Chew Train one last time, be sure to visit before the fall.
My kids love Bug’s Land and Heimlich’s Chew Chew Train is one of their favorites. We will definitely miss this ride, be we love Marvel and can’t wait to see what changes there will be for this new area.
