Even though I have been going to Disneyland my whole life, I didn’t start wearing Minnie Ears until the past couple years. I just never owned a pair or even wore a pair. It wasn’t until I won a pair of the coveted rose gold ears, that I got into wearing Minnie ears during my visit to the parks.

It now has become such a fun thing to do! I have quite a few pairs of Minnie ears now, and my girls have got in on the fun. Now we all think we need ears to wear on every Disney trip. I think I can handle that! Especially when making a new set of Minnie Ears is so easy with this no sew Minnie Mouse bow.
To make this no sew Minnie bow you will need:
1/2 yard or fat quarter of Fabric
Fabric Glue – I like Beacon Fabri-Tac
Scissors
Hot Glue Gun and Hot Glue
No Sew Minnie Bow
The first step is to cut the fabric. Cut a piece of fabric 11 inches by 10 inches and a second piece of fabric 2.5 inches by 5 inches. The smaller will be used for the center of the bow. If you are using a striped material like the one shown, make sure you cut the fabric with the stripes going the way you want. Since I wanted the stripes to be vertical on the finished bow, I made sure they were running vertical when I cut the longer side of fabric.
Create the bow by placing the fabric face down, and fold the fabric in 3rds, overlapping just a bit and use the fabric glue to secure it. You will be creating something like a tube. The fabric should still be 11 inches long. Fold the fabric in 3rds again and put one end of the fabric tube into the other end, securing it with fabric glue. Let it dry, but it will look like the last picture below.
Take the smaller piece of fabric, face down and fold into 3rds. Over lap just a bit and secure it with a small line of fabric glue.
Gather the bow part of the fabric in the middle until you get a bow look you like. Take the smaller fabric tube and place it in the middle of the bow. Use hot glue to secure it around the bow, trim the ends.
Use the hot glue gun to secure the no sew Minnie Bow to blank Mouse ears. Your minnie ears are ready for park hopping!
Because I like matchy matchy, I made a couple pairs of ears. Since I picked up all those blank Mickey ears, I figured why not?!?!
This black and white striped Minnie Bow was perfect for our Nightmare Before Christmas Minnie Ears. They totally matched the kids DIY Nightmare Before Christmas Shirts I made for our Disney Halloween Trip.
I can’t wait to make another no sew Minnie bow to make Minnie ears for every occasion and season. Maybe one to match this Minnie Mouse Skirt I made for the girls.
Happy Crafting!
