Lately I’ve been trying my hand at a little watercoloring. I have loved it, but there is a lot to learn and I have a way to go. But it’s a great way to keep my hands busy, relax and just get the creative juices going. I decided it would be fun to make one of my watercolors into a Mother’s Day gift. And wouldn’t mom love something that I created?
Yes I’m in my 30’s and still hand making presents for mom. But this is a grown up hand made creation that mom can actually use!
I took my watercolor painting and made it into notecards for my mom.
I love having notecards on hand to send notes of appreciation, condolences or just because. I took my watercolor and scanned it to my computer. Once in my computer I opened my editing program, I use photoshop elements, but you could use picmonkey that is free to use, and I opened up a blank document to create my notecards. I added a fun hello in one corner and then added my watercolor to the other. I sent it to a copy shop to be printed and that was it!
The copy shop included envelopes so now my mom can send out notes to those she loves. And remember me at the same time! 😉
I attached a cute tag to go along with the notecards.

I love giving simple gifts and notecards are one of my favorites. I’ve also share quick note gift ideas for teachers and for birthdays too.
I think my mom will love these! You could even turn your kids art work into a fun gift for grandma. Personalized gifts are my favorite and you can rarely go wrong.
Happy Gifting!
