Sending a little note to a friend is such a fun thing to do.  I just love it and I’d like to think that those I send them to appreciate the thought that went into it.  I know I sure do when I receive a card in the mail.

Sending joy to others and brightening someones day is what my On Call Sentiments Card packs is all about.  It’s also one of the reasons I’m super excited about the new Cricut Joy.  It’s going to make card making super easy.

But when you don’t have a Cricut Joy, we can still make some really awesome cards with our other Cricut machines.  If you have one or in the market to get one.

To make this thinking of you card you will need:

Cricut cutting machine

Cutting Mat

Deluxe Paper

Glue Stick (optional)

Thinking of You Card Cut File

Use the download below to download the zip file containing the cut file.  Unzip the file before you can work with the design.  This file is for personal use only.

Thinking of You Cut File

Upload the card cut file into Cricut Design Space.  Open it onto the design canvas.  It will look like the design shown below.  It is already sized to fit a 4.25 x 5.5 standard card size. The same size as the Cricut Joy cards.

I wanted to use just one sheet of double sided deluxe paper.  So I could just cut one mat and make it go a lot quicker.  I clicked on the insert card layer and changed the material color to match the card.  This way, they will both cut on the same mat, out of the same sheet of paper.

How to Make a Thinking of You Card

Place your deluxe paper onto a light grip mat and load it into your Cricut cutting machine.  Make sure you select deluxe paper as your cutting material in Cricut Design Space. Press the green go button to cut the card pieces.

Once the design is cut, unload the mat and remove the pieces from the mat.  This is why I love this deluxe double sided paper.  The purple is the back side of the floral design and will make this card look so good!

2 pieces of thinking of you card. Card and insert card

Fold the bigger of the pieces in half, creating the card.  You’ll get an idea of how the card will look finished since the inside of the card will show through the cut out words of the Thinking of You card cut file.

Use the slots in the corners to add the insert piece of paper to backside of the front of the card.  It will finish of the card, giving it a really polished look.  And I love that the beautiful floral design is shown when the card is opened.  You can add a bit of glue to your insert card to limit the amount of gap you’ll see around the cut out design.

All that is needed now is a sweet little note inside.  The recipient of your thoughtfulness will be so happy to receive this sweet card.  Bonus, it was super easy to make. And will make us a little less sad we don’t have a Cricut Joy yet to make cards with. 🙂
