Are you kids done with school this week? Mine are going to be and I’m actually excited about the summer! I’m sure the days will feel long sometimes, but I want to make sure and have fun with the kids for the 10 or so weeks they won’t have any school, practices or lessons of any kind. To get them excited about summer, I threw them a welcome summer party and made up a special gift for each of them.
I kept the party food really simple, using things that I already had in my house. Just some fun treats and a sweet drink. Kids love kool aid, cookies and cupcakes right?!?! I kept the food simple because I wanted to go all out on creating a fun summer party bucket, full of things they will be able to use during our long summer days. We don’t have any major vacation plans this summer, so I want to make sure to keep the fun going. Oh I’m sure we will have days were the tv is on a little longer than I’d like it to be, but that’s just how it goes sometimes. 🙂
I found the big tub in the one spot section of Target. They make a great basket for putting all the fun surprises in and then you can use them as beverage coolers at your next BBQ. I also found the bucket and shovel and water guns at Target. The rest of the items in the bucket: towel, kick board, flip flops, diving rings (I bought 1 pack and divided it into 2 sets), sunscreen and water bottle I found at Walmart.
The kids were super excited when they came outside to see their welcome summer party and are loving all the new summer fun supplies in their buckets. They are so ready to fill up every water bottle and squirt gun and get spraying! Since it was 105 degrees over the weekend, I’m seriously considering it! 🙂
Did you notice my mini summer banner that I had hung up? I love it! The bright colors make me happy. If you’d like to make one for your summer party, click the link below to download it for free. This printable is for personal use only.
We are so excited for summer and can’t wait to put all the new toys to good use!
Happy Partying!
