Summer time for us means trips up to the mountains to do some camping. I’m sharing our love of the outdoors with this fun camper life reverse canvas tutorial.

When I first got my iPad and the procreate app, this camper design was one of the first things I drew. I must’ve had camping on the brain. 🙂 And Like I mentioned above, we love spending time in the outdoors during the summer. This SVG cut file is super fun and perfect for making craft projects, t-shirts, mugs, totes and more.
I thought it’d be fun to use the camper image to create a fun reverse canvas project for my son’s room. His room is all about adventure, and being outdoors can defintely be an adventure. This reverse canvas tutorial may look like it’s hard, but it really is an easy project. Especially with the help of my Cricut Maker and Cricut EasyPress.
Reverse Canvas Tutorial
To make this reverse canvas you’ll need:
Camper Life Cut File
Upload the Camper Life SVG cut file into Cricut Design space. Size the image to fit onto your canvas. Make sure to measure the inside of your canvas frame, since the canvas will be reattached to the back, behind the frame of the canvas. Cut and weed your iron on vinyl and set aside. Use an exacto knife to cut the canvas off the frame. Heat your EasyPress to the correct temperature for your project (it depends on the type of iron on vinyl you are using). Use the EasyPress to iron on the design to the canvas. Use a hot glue gun to attach the canvas onto the backside of the canvas. Use scissors to cut around the extra canvas so it looks nice and clean from the front side.
Next time I make a reverse canvas I think I might just paint the frame. It turned out so cute and perfect for my son’s room. I love this camper design so much I made t-shirts for the kid’s teachers for the end of the year. They love camping and this design is perfect to get them ready for their summer adventures.
So what fun things are you going to try making with this camper cut file?
Happy Crafting!
