One of my most favorite things about halloween is the CANDY CORN!!  I always load up on bags of candy corn.  I don’t know why I am addicted to those candies!  Not only do I like to eat candy corn, I also love to decorate with candy corn.  I think the colors just help me get into the fall spirit, and fall is my favorite season!  I decided to whip up a quick treat for the kiddos to get us into the Halloween spirit, and these candy corn pretzel rods were a hit! These candy corn pretzel rods are so easy to make. The kids can help make them too. They are fun for a Halloween party, or to pass out to neighbors and friends.

These really are an easy treat to make.  I just buy these candy melts in the candy corn colors.  You can find these at Michaels, Hobby Lobby, JoAnns, and Walmart.  Walmart usually has a them in their holiday baking aisles.  I just bought my pretzel rods from the grocery store.Candy melts are what make these candy corn pretzel rods so easy to make. You start by melting the yellow candy melts first.  Just follow the package instructions for melting the candy and I find that a glass bowl works best for melting them.  Another tip is if the candy melts look a little too thick, add a little (1/2 tsp) vegetable oil to the candy to help thin it out.  You can add more than 1/2 tsp. but that will get you started.

Then dip/roll your pretzel rods in the yellow candy melts.  Shake off any excess candy and then put them on parchment or wax paper on a tray.  Stick them in the freezer or fridge for about 10 minutes and then start on the orange candy melts.

Do the same with the orange and white candy melts, making sure you chill them in between colors.

The kids loved them and they taste really yummy.  They make great gifts for teachers, friends or neighbors too.

I love giving out gifts to our neighbors at the Holidays.  I made this Candy Corn “Corn” for our neighbors a few years ago.

One of my favorite snacks during this time of year is this snick-ers-treat.  I combination of candy corn, nuts and chocolate chips is like eating a snickers!

Yes! These are the perfect dessert to make for a meal we’re doing. Do you know about how many pretzel rods I can get out of 1 bag of each of the colors?

THANKS for sharing such a fun dessert!

Hi Tori! I’m so sorry I’m just getting back to you. I use the most yellow and I can get about 2 dozen out of one bag of yellow candy melts. You should be able to do a lot more with the white since you just use a little bit for the top. I hope that helps. Good luck!!

Candy corn pretzels–YES! It’s just about the closest thing I can get to eating real candy corn-LOL. There is something about the yellow, orange and white that just say it’s autumn time and those pretzels make those colors look good!
