Christmas Paint Chip Kid Craft

I know it’s still the beginning of November but I couldn’t wait to share this super fun kid craft with you.  My kids love to do crafts and I love that.  Sometimes they beg me to do a craft and I just don’t have the time and it makes me feel bad.  So when we were out running errands, I picked up some paint samples with intentions of making a Christmas craft.  The kids had so much fun making this Christmas Paint Chip Kid Craft.
You may remember my Halloween Paint Chip craft from last year.
The first thing I did was gather all my supplies.  The supplies I used were:
paint chip samples- varying sizes
scraps of cardstock or construction paper
circle punches – varying sizes
scissors
glue sticks – 1 per child 🙂
I cut out the basic shapes of snowmen and trees from the paint chips.  If your kids are a little older they could do this part on their own.

I let me son use the circle punch to punch out all the ornaments for our trees from the scrap papers.  I’d like to say my son cut out the star, but sadly that was me. :/
Then I let the kids put their tree together using their glue sticks.  This part was a little messy so I made sure they had something under their work area that I didn’t care about getting glue all over.
For the snowman I cut out most of the pieces for the kids to put these together.
I love to watch as they put their projects together and buttons, noses, mouths, etc. aren’t in the places I would put them, but where the kids think they should go.
I always love how the kids crafts turn out.  They are so individual and so cute!
We don’t have an art display station, someday I will make one, so they just tape their projects onto the wall.  Heaven forbid I ever take them down!
Of course mom needed to make one like the kids so I made this cute little wreath.
I need to set time aside for kid crafting more often.  I have just as much fun as the kids!
This would be a great project for the whole family.  See what kind of things the adults could come up with too.  Maybe this would be a good activity for your next family get together or Christmas party!
Happy Crafting!
