It’s Tuesday! And I thought it was a good day to share a kid craft with all of you. It feels like I haven’t done much crafting with my kiddos since we moved. I decided that a Valentine’s Day craft was in order. After going through my craft cupboard we made this paper heart chain.
You guys, this is seriously the easiest craft. And I love that I didn’t have to pay for any of the supplies. The only things you need for the paper heart chain are construction paper, paper cutter and a stapler. I cut my construction paper into 1 inch strips that were about 5 inches long. I used classic Valentine’s Day colors, pink and red.
To start, take 2 strips of construction paper and stack them on top of each other. Then staple one end across the top. To make a heart, pull the 2 strips apart and bring them around and down so the other ends come together. Staple across the bottom of the papers to finish off the heart. To create the chain, before you staple the bottom to create the heart, loop one side of the heart through another heart and then staple the end.
My daughter needed a little help with the stapling, but loved that her paper heart chain matched her pink heart shirt!
This paper heart chain would make a cute Valentine’s Day banner or even a fun countdown to Valentine’s Day.
Pull out that construction paper you haven’t used in years and get to crafting with your kiddos!
Happy Crafting!
