A few years ago I decided I wanted to try my hand at making really big, gooey, chocolate chip cookies.  I bought myself an extra large cookie scoop and decided to perfect my recipe for chocolate chip cookies.  For me a good chocolate chip cookie needs to be just barely crisp on the bottom, super soft and fluffy (if a cookie can be fluffy).  Perfecting my chocolate chip cookie recipe was the next step to creating the best chocolate chip cookies.

Chocolate chip cookies just happen to be my husbands favorite cookie.  So he was a huge supporter in my quest to perfect my chocolate chip cookie recipe.  I know he wishes I would make these more often.  It’s not that it’s hard.  This is actually a really easy chocolate chip cookie recipe.  It calls for simple ingredients that most people already have in their kitchen.

Yield: 1 1/2 to 3 dozen

Prep Time 20 minutes

Cook Time 10 minutes

Total Time 30 minutes

Ingredients

• 1 cup butter
• 1 cup brown sugar
• 1 cup white sugar
• 2 eggs
• 1 tsp. vanilla
• 1 tsp. baking powder
• 1 tsp. baking soda
• 1 tsp. salt
• 2 3/4 cup flour
• 1-2 cups chocolate chips

Instructions

1. Cream together butter and sugars.
2. Beat in eggs and vanilla.
3. Add dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
4. Add chocolate chips.
5. Bake at 375 degrees fro 10-12 mins.
6. **If using a large cookie scoop, this recipe will make 1 1/2 dozen. It will make 3 dozen regular cookies.**

I made these cookies for my kids teachers for teacher appreciation week one year.  One of them asked me for the recipe, she loved them so much.  I gifted her the recipe along with the cookie scoop so she could make them at home.  Her friends and family now ask her to make her famous chocolate chip cookies. 🙂

Since these cookies are a bit larger than normal, I’d like to say I usually stop at one, but let’s be honest.  Who can stop at just one chocolate chip cookie?!?!
