Snick-ers-Treat Snack/Gift Idea

So you have a Snickers lover at your house?  I have a couple of my own here.  Although I’m not one of them.  I do however love candy corn.  During these fall holidays you will probably find candy corn somewhere in my house.  I especially like to mix up a fun Halloween Snack mix using candy corns, peanuts, chocolate chips and caramel bits (full recipe at the bottom of this post).  I can eat this mix by the handful and to me it tastes just like a Snickers.  Hence the Snick-ers-Treat.
Instead of Trick or Treat! Get it? 🙂
When I first started blogging about 2 years ago, my snicker treat cones was one of my first posts.  You can see I’ve come a long way as far as my photography and printables go, but I wanted to reinvent it a little.
So I decided I would make up some new printables complete with the papers to create the medallions that could be attached to any cute serving/gift container.  You can see I’ve used a baking cup, a popcorn box and a treat bag to put this yummy mix into to give to neighbors or use for a party.

The first thing you have to do is print out the printables.  Cut the papers out as the long strips and fold like an accordion.  Then press your accordion together or closed so it is 3 inches long and 1/4 inch or so tall.  Then you fold your accordion in half one way (so it is 1/5 inches long) and the ends match up.  Then do the same thing the other way.  Using a dab of hot glue on the ends, glue the ends together to make your medallion.
Then punch out or cut out your 2 inch circles and using more hot glue, attach them to your medallions.
Or skip the medallions and just glue them onto a cute treat bag.
I also attached a couple medallions to some sucker sticks and put them in my baking cups.
They look cute on anything!  You can use them in what ever way works for you or with whatever you have on hand.
Just click on the pictures for the download links for the printables.

Here is the recipe for my Halloween Snack Mix:
1 cup candy corn
1 cup dry roasted peanuts
1 cup chocolate chips (semi or milk, whatever you like)
1 cup of caramel bits (found with all the baking stuff at Walmart)
Mix it all together and make sure you get a little bit of each in every bite!  I prefer this to snickers but my hubby likes the real deal better.  I can’t wait to hear what you guys think about it!
These fun printables are perfect for this snack or to attach to any yummy treat.  Who wouldn’t want to get a Snick-ers-Treat?!?!
Happy Snacking!

Liz, this snack mix sounds devilish, can’t wait to try it out! Plan on taking to my October Epilepsy support group and watch every female have a fit over the mix. They’ll just love, it! Their kids will be sporting this mix at the school horror parties this Halloween! You are one rad, mad mom! Thanks so, so much!!
