Over the weekend our ward had an adult ward party. Guess who was volunteered to be in charge?? I didn’t really mind though and had been thinking about this theme for awhile.
Our theme was the Country Fair. We wanted to make it look like a country fair with the decor. Smell like a country fair with the food, and have all the things to look at that you could see at the fair.
We had some of the many talented people in our congregation display some of their talents with us. We had several quilts, photography, watercolor paintings, bottled vegetables, jams, baked goods, knitted blankets and so on. I was amazed at the talents people had, and I didn’t even know!
For the food we had BBQ Pork sandwiches, corn bread, potato salad, pasta salad, scones, pie and a chili cook off! Needless to say, no one left hungry!
We even learned how to square dance! Hubby was not too excited about that part, but was a good sport and humored me.
My favorite thing about the even were the decorations. I asked a couple ladies in our ward to do the decorating for the event. I told them the theme and that my only request was that we have red and white checked table clothes. (One of the ladies said, “OK. I think I have about 19.” What!?!? ) They truly did an amazing job on the decor. I didn’t have to worry about it at all.
I totally need to thank these gals and tell them how much they helped me out and took so much pressure off of me by taking that on.
So instead of just writing a simple thank you note, I wanted to make it a little extra special.
I found these packs of Life Savers in my draw and decided to use these along with my thank you note.
I created a little tag using a life saver image I found on the internet.
Using some twine, I attached the life saver to the life savers!
Now I can write a little note on the back to each of the ladies who helped with the decorations. I really like to get thank you notes, but I like to give them even more. I especially like to give them when they are a little fun. Hopefully they will know how much I really appreciated their help.
Have I ever mentioned that I like a bargain and I sometime use coupons? Well I do. And because I do, I am able to find candy, treats, gum and other things that make perfect thank you treats for either free, or really cheap.
I’ve had to do a couple of ward parties like this one here. And I wanted to give those that helped a fun little thank you treat. Here are a couple of the other thank you treats I’ve done.
You’re help made our party POP!
(You could also attached it to a can or bottle of soda!)
Have you seen this brand of gum at the store?
By leaving it UP2U, things turned out perfect!
These parties can be a LOT of work, but they sure a fun and I get to work with so many fun ladies and get to know them in a way I wouldn’t otherwise. PLUS, a bonus of being in charge, you get to take home the beautiful flower center pieces!!
I made up some printables for you to make your own fun candy thank you treats!
Thanks for stopping by and I hope you can make these work for you!
ENJOY!
