Disney Imagicademy Arts World App

We are huge Disney fans at our house!  In fact we just returned from a trip to Disneyland.  My kids loved seeing all their favorite characters while we were there.  They were especially excited to see Mickey and Minnie.  My 18 month old doesn’t say many words, but she knows Minnie and Mickey! 🙂  Because of our love for Disney, we were super excited to try out the new Disney Imagicademy Arts World App on iPhone and iPad.

Disney Imagicademy Arts World App Review

Disney Imagicademy is a learning brand that is designed for families with children between ages 3 and 8.  It helps inspire a love of learning and encourages kids to learn, by creating, making and doing. Both my son and daughter like to be creative and color, paint, draw and make things.  This app has so many fun options to allow kids imaginations to grow.  Plus they get to play along with their favorite Disney characters!

My son loves to build things.  He drew a picture of a sky scraper with 2 doors and 7 windows.  Then he went and built it!  In the design experience of the Disney Imagicademy Arts World App, he was able to design buildings.  He had fun choosing the color, style, texture, windows, doors and how tall to make the buildings of the Art World.

One of my favorite parts of the App is the costume and movies experience.  The kids are able to cast characters and get them into costumes so they can appear in movies with other Disney characters.  The best part, the kids get to provide the sound effects!

I also liked the drawing experience.  It teaches kids how to draw all kinds of things. Cars, trucks, insects, food, and plants just to name a few.

My kids favorite part of the App is the materials section. In this part they are able to make animal toys with Goofy.  I sat and listened to them laugh as they transformed dogs, cats and roosters into silly toys.  They loved dipping the animals in cheese, covering them with sprinkles and feathers.  They loved splattering them with all different colors of paint and then cleaning them off and starting over.

They liked stamping the animal toys with lemons and chicken feet and creating fun textures.  Then when they were finished with their animal, they loved showing me the finished product as Mickey, Pluto or Minnie would snap a picture of it.

Anytime my kids get a hold of the iPad, they go right to Netflix.  But lately they have been going into the Disney Imagicademy Arts World App and creating all kinds of fun things with Mickey and the Gang.  I think we need to try out Mickey’s Magical Math World.  My son is just learning to add and I think he would love it!

Mickey’s Magical Arts World is available for iPad in the Apple App store and you can download the free version.  There are in App purchases to allow you to unlock more magical experiences.

There is also an App for parents called Disney Imagicademy Parents.  In the parents section you can see your child’s progress and discover ways to help your child grow.  You can also see their latest creations and share their accomplishments with friends and family.  You can also give your child’s work a high five!  The next time they go into the App, it will show them how proud you are of their work!

My favorite part of Disney Imagicademy Parents is that it gives ideas of how to get creative with kids outside the App.  I love all the craft project ideas for creating with their hands and all the ideas for activities outside the home as well.  We love being creative around here, and this App helps us do just that!
