You may have noticed in years past, my Christmas front door is usually adorned with something other than a wreath. This year is no different. I decided I’d like a big bright ornament hanging on my front door with a little hand lettered message for the season.

DIY Front Door Ornament
I first got the idea when I came across these round faux wood chargers in the dollar section at target. I thought they’d make a great ornament for my front door. I didn’t love the faux wood grain, so I gave it a quick coat of white paint and let that dry. Then I cut my Merry & Bright stencil out of vinyl with my Cricut Explore Air 2 and placed that on the charger. I then added 2 coats of red paint over the top of my vinyl.
Once I peeled off the vinyl I had the exact look that I was going for. I added a hanger on the back of the charger and hung it on my front door.
You can download this Merry & Bright SVG cut file and upload it into your Cricut design space and cut this pattern out of vinyl to create your own stencil. If you’re not sure how to upload your own design to Cricut Design space, check out this video on how to upload an SVG cut file into Cricut Design Space.
This ornament fits right in with the rest of my front porch decorations. I just love how festive it is! And I liked that it was really easy.
