The other day I decided to put together a fun little Halloween Party for the kids. I wanted to make it super simple and super easy. I also wanted it to be fun for the kids. After all, isn’t Halloween about the kids?!?! 😉 I headed over to Walmart to gather all the things that would help make this party all of those things.
You can see my shopping trip for this party here.
I picked up a couple of these scary monster Tombstone pizzas. My kids (and my hubby) love pizza and this would make our Halloween Party really easy. I wanted the kids to see the monsters on the package before I cooked them. My son was more “scared” than my daughter!
For our party we had our scary monster pizza, some spider eggs (olives), blood punch and some Butterfinger apple dip. (recipe at end of post)
We also had a cupcake decorating station with (store bought) mini cupcakes with different colored frosting, candy eyes and witch warts (Nerds). There were also some fun size Nestle candy bars. I love fun size candy bars. Usually those are the Halloween treats my husband and I pick out of our kids Halloween buckets! 🙂 I also love those fun size boxes of Nerds. They are just the right amount of candy.
The kids loaded up their Halloween plates with some spooky food.
And of course some blood punch! My son kept saying, “it’s just fruit punch momma, but we pretend it’s blood punch”.
After dinner it was time for the cupcake decorating. I loved to see their creativity during the decorating and how they used the Nerds. The witch warts were put in a big pile on top of one cupcake.
They were also used as a mouth or as hair. Or they were just straight up eaten during the decorating. 🙂
I think each one is just perfect. The kids decided to share their cupcakes with their neighborhood friends. We put a couple on a Halloween plate and delivered them during our walk. The other kids loved them too.
The kid’s favorite part were the cupcakes (decorating and eating). But the hubby and I loved the Butterscotch Butterfinger Apple Dip. We even had a little left over to share with our grown up neighbors! This is such a yummy dip and perfect for using your fun size Butterfinger candy bars.
Here is the recipe:
1 small can of sweetened condensed milk
1 cup butterscotch chips
in a small sauce pan melt these together over medium heat.
then add:
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp vinegar
stir everything together and put into serving dish.
let it cool a bit and then top with:
2 – 4 fun size Butterfinger candy bars chopped up
Serve it up with your favorite kind of apple slices.
This Halloween party was really easy to put together. The kids had fun and loved the scary food. It just took a quick trip to the store to gather a few things and we were able to party as a family in no time.
Happy Halloween!
