Happy week before Thanksgiving friends!
Today I have a fun project that I absolutely loved making.
It is perfect for the fall season with its fall theme and fall colors.
When I first saw this sign by Ella Claire, I knew I needed to make one of my own.
Here is how I made mine.
I went down to Lowe’s and bought a 1″ x 8″ board and had them cut it for me in 12″ sections.
I bought a 1/4″ x 2″ board and had them cut it into 12″ sections.
Then I had my hubs use 2 of the small skinny boards to attach 2 of the bigger boards together with screws.
I ended up with a board that was 12″ x 14″.
Then I painted my board using acrylic paint.
I painted the edges brown and the top cream/ivory.
Once the paint was dry I attached some vinyl.
My neighbor has a vinyl cutter so together we picked out the fonts and layout we wanted for our words.  Once she cut it out, she removed the actual letters for me and kept the rest as a stencil.
I used a card (gift card, credit card, similar) to make sure all the vinyl was attached and stuck to the board.  Then I painted the letters of my words.
Once the paint was dry, I removed my vinyl.
I used some sandpaper to distress the sign and give it a little character.

I learned this fun technique at a Lolly Jane craft night and they have a great tutorial on their blog here.
It found a perfect home on my entry table next to my Harvest Wreath.
I added some fun colored pumpkins to finish off the display.
I just love it and wished it was a little colder here in AZ to enjoy all the pleasures of Fall.
My Thanksgiving entry way is almost complete.
It’s a good thing too, since Thanksgiving is next week!!
Happy Crafting!
