Ever since my baby’s 2nd birthday party in June, my middle child has been talking about having a princess party. She loves everything pink and princess and told me several times since then that she wants to have a party at home and have princesses. Well I hope that we delivered for her! We hosted a princess birthday party for her and her friends and she just loved everything about it! I’ve got several tips and tricks and even some printables for you so you can host your own princess birthday party.
What is awesome about this party is that I could buy everything I needed at one store! Did you know Walmart has a whole aisle dedicated to themed birthday parties! Well my daughter spotted her beloved princesses right away! They have so many fun and functional products to host the perfect princess birthday party.
Let me show the pictures of the party and then I will get into some tutorials and printables that I hope will help you in hosting your own fab party!
Because my daughter was turning 5, I knew I needed to keep the food simple. We served pb&j sandwiches but cut them into small triangles perfect for petite princess hands. We also had watermelon and carrots. I wanted the children to eat, so I served what they liked. Tip number 1, party food doesn’t have to be fancy for young princesses.
We had to have pink princess punch of course! You can see that my punch pitcher is sitting on top of a present. Well here’s tip number 2, if you need to lift something up on your serving table, find a box or plastic container and wrap it with wrapping paper to coordinate with the party.
My pink princess punch is super easy to make:
1 can frozen pink lemonade (mix with only 3 cups water)
1 (6 oz) can pineapple juice
2 cans cherry lemon lime soda
mix it all together and serve over ice.
I wanted to have some sort of center piece on the table. I purchased the party crowns for the children to wear during the party. I decided to pull out a couple of cake plates and arranged the crowns on them so they made a crown cake! With the birthday princess’ crown on the top!
I seriously loved this paper chandelier that I bought in the party aisle at Walmart! I hung it from our light fixture over our table and I think it is just so fun! One of the other items I purchased from Walmart was the room transformation kit. These hanging heart jewels came in that package and coordinated so well with the chandelier.
Some of the other items in the room transformation kit were these cute princess heart pictures. They are really meant to be hung around the room, but I decided to attach them to the back of the chairs for the party guests. We even had a cinderella princess at the party and she was delighted to sit in the cinderella chair! My next tip would be to get the most bang for your buck. The room transformation kit came with a lot of fun elements that I decided to use in different ways around the room.
The princess windows and hanging hearts were also part of the kit. I liked that I could hang them on the window and hide some of the junk in the backyard. 🙂
For my food table I wanted to have a pretty display and wanted to have some sort of back drop. Tip number 4, buy an extra table-cloth or cut one in half to create your food table back drop. I hung this table-cloth in front of a window. And I love how the sun comes through and you can really see the castles!
My next tip would be to not take the birthday girl shopping with you. You end up buying all the things in the princess section!! 🙂 She loved the birthday princess sash, so mom caved and got it for her. But I will admit, she sure looks cute! And happy. Until I made her eat carrots! Haha!
