Thanks to As You Wish Pottery for partnering together to bring you this post.
All of my daughters favorite things were brought together with this pink princess painting party.
As my daughter’s birthday approached, I knew I wanted to throw her a party she would love. A few months ago she went with my sister to As You Wish to do some painting. She fell in love with the place! She has told me for the last year that when she grows up she wants to be an artist. So I knew that she would love to have a birthday party involving painting of some kind.
I started looking into birthday parties at As You Wish. I loved the different options they offered. And I knew my daughter would love to hang out with her friends doing something she loved. I also loved that at As You Wish you can keep things simple with your party decor, or you can bring things in to go with a specific party theme.
I decided to include all of my daughter’s favorite things into one party. Along with painting, she loves the color pink and she loves princesses. I set each place at the painting table with a goodie bag with their name, a cup of princess popcorn to munch on while they painted, and the best party punch served in pink lidded milk bottle. I wanted to keep not only pink in the theme, but the gold crown too. So I used my silhouette to cut out the crowns out of glittered card stock and used foam stickers to attach them to the bags and to the bottles.
I then decided that these little painters needed a crown to wear as they painted. So I hot glued some glittered crowns to head bands and had them placed at each setting.
Before I decided to cut out crowns from glittered card stock and glue them onto headbands, I had created these printable crowns as part of a printable princess birthday party pack, that would have also been really cute set at each place.
As You Wish had the option of having balloons at the party to coordinate with our party theme. We tied them on chairs and used them as centerpieces for our painting table. It was fun to tie them to some of their beautifully painted pieces that the girls could look at as examples as they painted. They also provided goodie bags for the girls and had the cutest stuff in them! They even had the tiniest watercolor painting palette. It was so cute.
Look at these cute little princesses painting up a storm. They all loved it. They took painting their pottery very seriously.
Once the girls were done painting their pottery pieces, we had plenty of time for cake and opening presents. As You Wish was really easy to work with when it came to bringing in food for the party. They had a table for me to set up all our party treats.
I tried to stick with the color and princess theme for the party food. This beautiful amazing cake was made by Sugar Lane Bakery. Isn’t that crown just perfect!! I told her what I was wanting and it turned out better than I imagined. I used some candyfetti from Sweets Indeed around the bottom of the cake to bring in the color palette. I used the candyfetti on the heart sugar cookies with royal icing. My amazing friend Laura of Pink Cake Plate used her super power of making amazing edible party favors and made these candy covered krispy treats and caramel pretzels for the party. All of the food was so good!
I created the back drop for my food table using different colored ribbons, lace and strips of fabric I tied to a yard stick that I hung from a command strip hook. It was the perfect simple back drop for our party table with just the right amount of color.
To add more height to the table I filled some jars with pink and white candy and the girls filled their goodie bags with as much as they could handle.
I have to say that the best party about the party is that I didn’t have to worry about anything. Our wonderful party host made sure all the girls had everything they needed to paint their pottery pieces. She helped them pick out colors and even do some more detailed work if they needed help. My favorite part was that while my daughter opened presents, she wrote down a list of the gifts and who they were from. I totally didn’t even think of that! It was perfect for writing thank you notes later.
My daughter and all her friends just loved this painting party. They all loved their finished pieces too. It was all so fun!
Happy Partying!
