If you’ve been following along with me for awhile, you know that I love hosting a party. I like to keep it simple, but still fun. Over the last couple weeks I’ve been sharing some recipes from the menu of my daughter’s 2nd birthday party that we hosted in June. It’s only been 6 weeks 😉 but I’m finally sharing the details and the printables from her strawberry lemonade birthday party.
At the beginning of the summer I started making homemade lemonade and it was so good! Deciding that I wanted to try making some strawberry lemonade is where I got the inspiration for this 2nd birthday party. I thought it would be fun to come up with some different ways to include strawberries and lemonade into a birthday party theme.
Of course you can’t have a party without cake! This strawberry cake with lemonade frosting was the perfect centerpiece to our dessert table.
I really wanted to make some sugar cookies for the birthday girl’s party as well. I made sugar cookies with royal icing in the shapes of strawberries and lemons. I found a strawberry cookie cutter for the strawberries, but for the lemon cookies I used a football shape and just smoothed out the area with the laces. That worked great!
Our drinks were accompanied by cute paper straws with strawberry lemonade flags.
To drink we had both fresh squeezed lemonade and strawberry lemonade. I found these cute drink dispensers at World Market
I found some cute paper fans and honeycomb balls in our party colors to add to the display. They matched perfectly with our printable banner. For the backdrop and the table coverings I just bought a couple yards of coordinating fabric from WalMart. It’s not too expensive and I knew that I would be able to wash and reuse it later.
I used some cute kraft boxes from Pick Your Plum for the party favor boxes. I tied them with a thank you tag for each of the kids to take home.
All the printables that I created for the party are free to download. These are for personal use only, for that next strawberry lemonade party you want to host! 🙂 You can download them using the links below the picture.

The party was a great success and really fun to put together. Along with the dessert and drinks table, we also had a nice lunch. For the menu I tried to stay as close to the strawberry lemonade theme as I could. Our menu consisted of:
Pecan Chicken Salad Sandwiches (link coming soon)
Strawberry Spinach Salad with Lemon Poppyseed Dressing
Lemon Poppyseed Scones with Strawberry Jam
Strawberry cake with Lemonade Frosting
Strawberry and Lemon Sugar Cookies with Royal Icing

When I am thinking about putting a party together, I always try to have one really cute focal area. For this party it was the drink and dessert station. I put the rest of the food on our long counter.
This strawberry lemonade birthday party was cute, fun, and although it took some time to make all the food, it was really easy to put together.
We had so much fun celebrating our little missy turing 2.
Happy Partying!
