I don’t know anyone who can stop eating this purple popcorn.  It’s a great party treat that can be customized any color to match your party.

Popcorn is a classic party snack.  And when you color it and flavor it, it is even more of a hit!  When I knew I had to plan a purple party for little miss, I knew that purple popcorn would be a sure thing on the menu.  I love how easy this colored popcorn is to customize for any party.  You can keep it as simple or complicated as you want.  Just keep it to popcorn and candy coating, or add m&m’s, sprinkles, crushed cookies, etc. to make it a little more fun.

This purple popcorn is so easy to make.  It only takes 3 ingredients and a microwave.  I like simple so I use just one bag of homestyle microwave popcorn.  It’s about 10-12 cups of popped popcorn.  Add popped popcorn to a big bowl.  Then I use a 12 oz bag of candy melts and melt it according to the package.  Then add the melted candy over the popcorn and gently stir it all together.  You can add sprinkles if you’d like too.  Once it’s all mixed together, just pour it out onto a parchment lined cookie sheet in an even layer and let it set up.  You can put it in the fridge for a bit until the candy hardens back up.  Then break it into pieces to serve.

See just how easy this purple popcorn is to make.

This little chick was super excited about her purple popcorn for her purple party.  I’m not sure who liked the popcorn more, the kids or the moms.

Happy Cooking!
