The Scottsdale Resort at McCormick Ranch in Scottsdale, AZ is a beautiful oasis in the desert to take a much needed break.
I was provided accommodations and meals during a working weekend, in exchange for my review. All opinions and photos are my own.
I have lived in the Phoenix, Arizona area my whole life and there are so many places that I’ve never been. It’s amazing to me how many beautiful places there are to see and experience right in my own backyard. One of the places I’ve never been until just recently is the Scottsdale Resort at McCormick Ranch.
I’ve heard the phrase McCormick Ranch for many years. I’ve even visited the train park down the street from the resort many times with my children. But it wasn’t until planning a recent girls trip/blog working weekend that I really looked into the The Scottsdale Resort.
It totally embodies the Southwest with it’s decor and ambiance. The newly renovated rooms are just beautiful and the views of the golf course and surrounding mountains can’t be beat. I was so lucky to have a room with a gorgeous king size bed all to myself for the weekend! The furnishings gave off such a luxurious feeling. I think I need that head board in my bedroom at home!
Once all the ladies arrived for our girls/work weekend, we headed out to a cabana by the pool. The cabana was filled with water bottles (which we enjoyed in the 90 degree temps) and some complimentary snacks. The lounge chairs were super comfy and we enjoyed some shop talk in the shade.
I loved that the pool had a deep end and a shallow end. Perfect for couples or families. I know my kids would have loved the pool. They even had a bridge to swim under with a little water fall. That’s a kid’s dream right there!
We had talked about going out to lunch, but we are SOOOO glad we didn’t. The Twisted Vine Bar and Grill had a great selection of food and beverage and we enjoyed every bite! They really had something for everyone. Of course an afternoon at the pool called for some fruity drinks. And they were more than happy to accommodate those of us who wanted our drink alcohol free. I had a virgin lava flow and it was so good! I thinks it’s my new favorite fruity drink!
Before dinner, we had an opportunity to explore the grounds a little. There were all sorts of places to sit, relax and enjoy visiting with friends or strolling through lush green areas of the resort. I loved this large welcoming fireplace right off the lobby. While we were there, they had this area in use for a pre wedding gathering. It was a lovely spot for such an occasion.
After strolling through the grounds, we headed to dinner. The on site restaurant at the Scottsdale Resort is called Kitchen West.
Everything we ordered was so, so good! Our server was very knowledgable about the food and his recommendations were spot on. Every course was so delicious. The flat bread they bring to the table comes with an onion jam. Don’t be afraid of the name. You’ll love it!
And the 10 pound carrot cake, yep. I think they call it that because I gained 10 pounds just looking at it! 🙂
We enjoyed our last morning at Kitchen West, discussing business goals and changes we wanted to make this coming year, over some spectacular breakfast dishes. Breakfast classics with a southwestern flare. And of course, the giant waffle.
The Scottsdale Resort at McCormick Ranch is a destination Resort. If you or your spouse love golfing, they have a gorgeous course. With the pool, the food, local attractions and accommodations, this really is a Resort for any occasion.
We love going on staycations here in the Valley, and the Scottsdale Resort is definitely on my list to take the family next time we want to get away for a day or two. And if you live in AZ, be sure to take advantage of their Arizona Resident pricing!
Happy Vacationing!
