Summer is officially here in Phoenix.  Which means it’s time for summer bar-b-cues and backyard get togethers.  I love entertaining and luckily my husband is a great co-host. 🙂  We recently invited some couples in our neighborhood over for a fun potluck, games and bon-fire in our backyard.

I wanted to go with a western theme for the decorations since we were having pulled pork, beans and all kinds of yummy salads.  I had a ton of fun putting the table together for all our friends.

When it came to dessert though, I knew I wanted to keep things simple so we could all enjoy time chatting around the fire.  I thought an easy s’mores bar would be just the thing to finish off our fun evening.  I tend to be a little over the top sometimes, and although this s’mores bar was a little more than the traditional style s’mores, it took me just 15 minutes to put together.

I decided have more of a variety of choices for this s’mores bar.  I love graham crackers, but I love the cookies that have chocolate on them already.  It can be a little easier to manage (especially if you are making these with kids).  So I put a good selection of cookies to make our s’mores.

And since we weren’t making these for kids, I knew we’d need a good variety of chocolates.  I of course had the classic chocolate bar, but I also got something I knew my husband would love, and something I would love.  And it turned out our guests loved these options to.

This easy s’mores bar was a hit at our get together.  Everyone wanted to try the different varieties and they were all delicious.  We even had one couple grab a couple strawberries off the fruit platter and add that to their s’mores.

Having so many options is what made this easy s’mores bar fun.  And putting things out in nice bowls, cake stands, plates makes it look really fancy and will have your guests thinking you spent a ton of time putting it together.  Just using things I had around my house, I was able to put together a great display.

Are you a s’mores fan?  I think you might become one once you have a spread like this!

Happy Roasting!

Liz
