It is going to be one hot weekend here for the 4th of July! Are you going to be feeling the heat this 4th too? We will be spending some time out in the heat, enjoying some food, some water fun and of course watching the fireworks. We will also be enjoying some cool treats to try and keep cool. We like to get the kids involved and making this root beer float ice cream in a bag would be a fun activity to do to celebrate the 4th of July. My kids had fun making this and had even more fun eating it!
It is seriously so easy and quick to make. You mix up your ingredients and pour them into a quart size zippered storage bag and then place the smaller bag into a gallon size zippered storage bag that has been filled with ice and rock salt/ice cream salt. The kids shook it for a little bit, but once they got tired, we set a towel out on the counter and rolled the bags around on the counter until the ice cream was ready (about 10 – 15 minutes).
A quick summer treat the kids can make
RootBeer Float Ice Cream in a Bag
Ingredients
Instructions
The kids loved sipping it (as best they could) out of fun straws, just like you would a root beer float.
This is a fun twist on a classic cool treat that was so fun to make. I mean what’s more American than a root beer float? Well, maybe apple pie. But root beer float ice cream in a bag would be a fun tradition to add to your celebrations this year!
Happy Mixing!
