Are you’re kids getting super excited for the festivities this weekend? I love watching fireworks, especially if they are right in front of me and I can not just hear, but feel the big boom as they go off. Usually we are in the mountains in this awesome canyon watching fireworks, and you can feel that boom. I love it, my kids hate it. The last couple years, one of my kids has cried because it was so loud and scary to them. Well this year we are staying put and not going anywhere to celebrate the 4th of July. Even though we don’t have any big plans to celebrate the 4th this year, I wanted the kids to get excited about it and I wanted to do something fun with them. I decided to make up a 4th of July edible activity for the kids.
I created a couple activity sheets that the kids could color, cut out, hang up, or make something fun out of.
Then I found this fun red white and blue licorice at the candy store last week.
How fun are these?!?! I knew we had to have them and make something fun with them.
I gave the kids some licorice and an activity sheet and let them have some fun creating festive 4th art work.
I love that my daughter needed to have on all her jewelry on to get crafty!
They were able to pull the colors apart and place them where they needed to go. My son’s favorite was the blue star. He was so proud to show me he stayed in the lines!
And of course the best part, getting to eat all the licorice after our art work was complete! Ok, maybe it was during. 🙂
You can download these activity sheets for your own edible art activity to celebrate this weekend!
Hope you all have a safe and Happy 4th of July!
Happy Crafting!
Liz
