Over the last couple years I have become a huge fan of the 4th of July. I don’t remember loving the holiday as much as a kid as I do now as an adult. I don’t know if it’s because I have kids and I try and make all the holidays fun for them, or it’s been making new traditions with my husband and our families, but I really love the 4th of July. I love that we can teach our kids about the reason for 4th of July, but that we can celebrate with family and friends. One of our favorite things to do is have a 4th of July party! In honor of the holiday coming up next month, I got together with some of my friends to bring you a classic 4th of July party with decor, printables, food and drink ideas.
We had so much fun putting this party together. You can’t go wrong with classic red, white and blue, so that is where we started things. We wanted it to have a classic, vintage and retro feel. By bringing in some red and blue gingham, we knew we could pull this party together.
When I think retro, I think aprons and pearls. That is where the inspiration for the table “skirt” came from. Red, white and blue half aprons tied together and pinned to the table cloth make a big statement. And they look cute too!
Our printables truly represent what the 4th of July is all about and are perfect for any 4th of July party that you are thinking of hosting.
Of course our classic 4th of July party needed a pie station!
I think that we had a pie for every preference!
Lemon Cream Pie | Cherry Blueberry | Strawberry Rhubarb | Strawberry Banana Cream | Root Beer Float
Being that it is usually 100+ degrees here in AZ for the 4th of July, our drink station included ice cream! It also included cute straw flags and coordinating water bottles.
By pulling different pieces from our homes and coming together to collaborate, we were able to create a fun 4th of July party highlighting some classic touches in true red, white and blue fashion.
All this week we will be sharing details of our 4th of July party. Check back each day and then on friday we will have links to every post so you can get the printables, recipes and tutorials.

Fantastic ideas. I love how you used the aprons as table skirts.
Thanks Erica! That’s my favorite part too!
