A few weeks ago I was selected by House Party to host a Pull Ups – Why wait, let’s celebrate party!
I was so excited because I have been ready to potty train little miss for a couple months now and this was the perfect motivation to get started.
House Party sent me some fun swag to pass out to all the guests that were going to attend the party.  I was excited for fun food, games and for this big step to start.
Unfortunately, the week of the party, both the kids got the stomach bug and knowing that I wouldn’t want my kids going into a sick house, I had to cancel the party.  🙁
I was really sad, but wanted all the moms and kids to benefit from the helpful tools House Party sent.  So I made up some fun goodie bags and included all the things that we would’ve done at the party.  I delivered them to the moms and hope they are able to get their kids excited to start potty training.
In the goodie bag I included a letter about the items in the bag and what we had planned to do at the party.
Pull Ups party!
We are so sad that we had to cancel the party, but didn’t want you to miss out on celebrating your flushable moments with Pull Ups.
Here is a party pack full of things to get you started to celebrate at home.
**Decorate a Crown** Become a prince/princess of the potty and customize a special crown.
**Color Page** Get excited about potty training by coloring a first flush moment!
**Party**Put on those party hats and blow the noisemakers to let the whole house know you are celebrating your big step!
**Pull-Ups Big Kid App** Download the free Big Kid app for fun songs, videos, advice, games and more!
**Pull-Ups to try** When the time comes, be sure to try out the fun learning designs pull-ups with designs that fade when wet.  And coupons to buy more later!
Don’t forget to keep track of all those milestones along the way with the tracking chart and stickers.
We’d like to thank House Party for sending us such fun stuff to share with you so we can all celebrate this big step!!
Thanks! – Liz & Little Miss
PS We did have door prizes for the party and although there was no party, you still may have won!  Congrats and I hope you enjoy!

Here is just some of the fun stuff sent by House Party that the party guests received.
I made sure all the kids had a crown to decorate as they became the Prince/Princess of the potty.
I even had some door prizes and was excited to give them out as the guests arrived.
So I decided to give them out even though we didn’t have the party.
I made up these fun potty prize jars using little spice jars I had bought at Ikea, dollar store stickers I cut apart and a fun printable I designed and printed on label paper.
Hopefully this will be a fun incentive to help the kids get started.
Here are some things I learned about potty training.
Remember, I’m no expert, but this worked for me.
*For my son:
I had to wait until he was absolutely ready to potty train.  It wasn’t until after he turned 3 that we        were able to make it happen.  I tried probably 2 times before he was 3 and drove myself crazy.  I would get upset and yell and get totally frustrated.  I realized there was no need to be yelling and finally decided to wait.
He had a hard time going #2 in the toilet.  He would wait until bed time and we put on his “night time diaper” and then he would go.  It wasn’t until I told him I would hide (stand outside the bathroom where he couldn’t see me) that he would finally go #2 in the toilet.  He would say his tummy hurt, so I told him if he went poo poo his tummy would feel better.
It did take a while for him to get potty trained during the night, but after an accident or 2, he realized he didn’t like that feeling so much.  I would even wake him up before I went to bed and take him to the potty.  Since he went to bed at 8:00 and I didn’t make it to bed til about 11:00.
*For my daughter:
She was ready so much earlier than my son.  She understood the concept of sitting on the toilet early but didn’t understand the sensation of knowing you had to go potty.  To understand this part, I learned that leaving her completely naked worked the best.  If she didn’t have underwear, a pull up or diaper on, she was able to recognize when she needed to go potty and usually made it on time.
I did start this when it was really cold so I made sure she had on a shirt and some leg warmers to keep her warm even though she didn’t have any bottoms on.
For rewards, little miss did good with stickers as her prize with a treat only if she went #2.  Mr. C needed to have a treat and then a hot wheels if he went #2.  And then when they were doing really good, we went from pull ups to the really cool underpants or really cute panties.
Maybe there is something in here that you can try that will work for you too.
Happy Potty Training!
If there is anything happy about this process! 🙂
Thanks to House Party for selecting me to host!
They are always looking for hosts for fun events, be sure to check them out!

It’s so sad that you had to cancel the party. But what an awesome party to be able to plan.
