I’m always amazed at how fast summer goes and how early school seems to start each year. Don’t get me wrong, I love summer time with the kids, but I am usually ready for them to go back to school. And lucky for me, they like going to school!
We are very fortunate to attend a school that we love with wonderful teachers, principal and staff. I know that the people there really care for and love my kids and want the best for them. And they seem to like me too! Which is always a plus, when parents can get along with the school.
Because we love our school and teachers, I like to help the kids give their teachers something special to let them know how much they are appreciated. Each year on the first day of school, we like to wrap up a little gift to let them know we think they are awesome.
I found these insulated tumblers at Walmart for a decent price and wanted to give them a little personalization for the teachers this year. Plus I wanted to try out a different type of vinyl and see how it would look on the different styles and colors of tumblers.
This is one of those times when I just love having a Cricut Maker handy.

How to Create Teacher Fuel Gift
Upload the free school supply cut files to Cricut Design Space. See this video on how to upload an SVG to Cricut Design Space if you are not familiar with this process. Once the file is unzipped and uploaded, open the file onto the canvas of Design Space. Size the file to fit your cup.
I recommend using any permanent vinyl for this project. But I wanted to try using some of the permanent frosted vinyl. I wanted to go for a more subtle look and thought the grey would look good on the stainless steele cup.
Place the vinyl onto the cutting mat and load it into the Cricut Maker. Select vinyl as the material and cut the design. Once cut, remove the vinyl from the mat and weed the vinyl.
Use transfer tape to apply the vinyl to the cup.
I did the same with the mint and black cups, but used the frosted permanent vinyl in opaque. I just wanted to give those cups a hint of the design and thought it would look good.
You can see on some of the cups the design is barely there. Which is the look I was going for. But you could really use any color (or pattern) of permanent vinyl that you think would look good on your cups.
Teacher Gift Tags
To make these cups a little more special and giftable, I made up some cute teacher gift tags. Free printable tags are just the best and easiest for dressing up a simple gift.
Download the teacher gift tags using the download link below. These are for personal use only.
Save them to your computer, print them out and cut them apart. Attach them to any teacher gift using a bit of bakers twine. Super Easy!
The kids loved delivering these to their teachers at meet the teacher night. If I had been really on top of things, I would’ve filled them with chocolate for just a little added fun.
I just really hope the teachers know how much we appreciate them and all they do for our kids.
Happy Crafting!
