A great place to stay for larger families and groups planning a visit to the park is the Hampton Inn & Suites Garden Grove an Anaheim area hotel by Hilton. This Anaheim area hotel is just over a mile from the Disneyland Resort.
This post is in partnership with Hampton Inn & Suites Garden Grove. All opinions are my own.

These last few years I have taken a trip to Disneyland with my family. Usually during HalloweenTime to experience Oogie Boogie Bash and all the Halloween fun in the park.
It also works out that my son and husband can spend a morning doing something they love. The super sports sand show which is about 20 minutes from Anaheim. It is a win win trip for all.
Because I have a family of 5, we can’t all fit in a standard room. We don’t like to stay in 2 separate rooms, so I am always looking for a hotel that can have all 5 of us in 1 room. The Hampton Inn and Suites in Garden Grove was good fit.
Hampton Inn and Suites Garden Grove
Located on Harbor Blvd., just a little over a mile south of the entrance to Disneyland, this hotel is really in a great location. It is located next to restaurants and across the street from Target.
In my opinion, it is a bit far to walk to the park. But there are a few options in how to get to the parks and back.
You could also take the ART bus, drive to the Mickey and Friends parking lot and take the tram to the park, or take a ride share. The ART bus stop is located just across the parking lot here at the Hampton Inn and Suites Garden Grove. And this was our preferred mode of transportation to and from the parks.
The ART bus is just $6 a day per person and this bus route runs every 20 to 30 minutes. The buses were busiest 30 minutes before park opening time to 30 minutes after park opening time. They were also busy in the evenings after fireworks until park closing.
I did notice more ART attendants at the stops to assist riders to know which buses their hotels were on. And to let them know when the bus was coming. As well as recognizing when a second bus was needed.
You can get ART bus passes directly on the app A Way WeGo and Token Transit. The staff at the front desk of the Hampton Inn and Suites can also provide you assistance when you need it. You can also get 2 free days of ART when you purchase a 3 day pass from my partners at Get Away Today.
Hampton Inn and Suites Free Breakfast
The Hampton Inn & Suites offers free breakfast. We were able to enjoy a hot breakfast every morning of our stay. Whatever the kids wanted, they loaded up on. Eggs, waffles, cereal, bagels and more was ready for us each morning. Enjoying a free breakfast at your hotel is a great way to save a little money while in the parks.
They had a lot of waffle makers here. Which is great, because waffles are always a hit with everyone. And I appreciated that they always offered some kind of protein option.
Maybe your kids are like mine and always want to check out the pool. The Hampton Inn and Suites has not only a pool, but a shallow kiddie pool as well as a hot tub.
And I’m not going to lie. I love a hot tub at the end of a long day in the parks. So we definitly spent some time down at the pool.
It was a great way to take a break during the hot afternoon. The kids enjoyed the pool and I was able to relax with a book. And there are no need to worry about towels for the pool. They provide those for you there.
Hampton Inn & Suites Rooms
Hilton is working hard to make sure that their hotel rooms are clean and all the high touch point areas are sanitized. You can read more about their cleanliness promise and procedures at the Hilton Clean Stay.
Let’s talk rooms. We stayed in a 2 queen, 1 bedroom suite. That had sleeping room enough for 6. Two queen beds in the a separate room, along with a pull out sleeper sofa in the living area.
When you entered the room, you walked into a small kitchen area. There was a full size fridge, small 2 burner stove, microwave and sink. Including dishes and silverware to cook any of your own meals if you wanted to save money there. It also included a small table with 4 chairs.
As part of this main room, there was a sleeper sofa and chair. There is a tv on top of a dresser with storage areas. Our room had a sliding door that led out onto a balcony. This is definitely an upgraded room and something you can ask about when you check in. There aren’t many rooms that have balconies.
If you are interested in booking a stay at the Hampton Inn & Suites by Hilton Anaheim, you can call them directly, or book through my favorite Disney trip planning group Get Away Today. I buy all the Disney tickets through Get Away Today and they are a great partner with the Hampton Inn & Suites as well.
Get Away Today offers reduced rates on rooms, lower parking fees and even 4th night free options when available. Plus they have a layaway program. After your $200 initial payment, you can pay your trip off slowly as your vacation date approaches.
One last thing. We had a room that faced the direction of Disneyland. One of our most favorite things was that we could sit on the couch, balcony or the bed in our room, and watch the fireworks! How awesome is that?
As you can see, we totally enjoyed our stay at Hampton Inn & Suites Garden Grove.
