I received free products in order to host the Disney Kids Preschool Playdate. The opinions expressed here are my own.
I love any reason for getting together with friends. We’ve been wanting to invite some of the moms and kids in our new neighborhood over to play and to get to know them better. When I found out I was selected to host a #DisneyKids Preschool Playdate I was super excited! It helped get our get together started and we had a reason to invite our neighbors over to play. We were sent some fun Jake and the Neverland Pirates party supplies to help host our playdate.
As the kids arrived at the party we let them run around the backyard and play. One of the things they enjoyed playing with was the Kinetic Sand. My kids call it the squishy sand. They loved squeezing it in their hands, forming balls and running their fingers through it. They wanted more so they could really use their shovels in it!
To gather them all to the table, we had a coloring activity. The kids were able to color their favorite Disney characters like, Mickey & Friends, Jake, Sophia, Doc McStuffins and Handy Manny.
Then it was snack time. The kids snacked on cliff bars, grammy crisps (by Crunchmaster), gold fish, veggies and of course we had pirate punch (blue gatorade) to drink. The grammy crisps are really good and the moms liked them just as much as the kids! Of course I had some munchies for the moms too. We had a great time visiting while the kids were having fun.
But the highlight of the #DisneyKids Preschool Playdate was the treasure hunt! You can’t have a Jake and the Neverland Pirates Playdate without a treasure hunt!! I made a map of our backyard on the back of a brown paper grocery bag and burned the edges so it looked worn. I had my hubby bury our treasure and we made sure to make a big X on the dirt pile where it was buried. The kids loved having a real map to follow and they had fun tracking down the treasure.
They had that treasure unburied in no time and were claiming their treasures just as quickly. I used a diaper wipes case as our treasure box and inside we had pirate bouncy balls, periscopes, gold de bloons, pencils, rings, balloons, and eye patches. I was shocked that even the boys wanted the rings, and next time, I need to make sure there is a balloon for everyone. The moms even got a little take home prize. They each got to take home some fun Disney luggage tags.
After the treasure hunt the kids got to eat some cute pirate cupcakes. Of course most of the kids ate the frosting and not the cookie. But it was a super simple dessert for our Pirate Playdate.
Here are all our swashbuckling pirates with all their bounty!
Everyone had such a fun time at the #DisneyKids Preschool Playdate. Except for my son who was in school while we had the party. However, he was super excited that I saved this Mega Bloks hot wheels car for him to build. He was able to follow the instructions and built it all by himself. Then he carried it around for two days. It even went on a couple of errand runs with us! 🙂
Thanks Walt Disney World Resort and Mom Select for the #DisneyKids Preschool Playdate celebration kit, and for helping us have so much fun with our friends!
Happy Partying!
Liz
