Thanks to Disney Parks and Mom Select for helping me host a #DisneySide @ Home Celebration.
Have you heard (or read) about people showing their Disney Side lately?  This is Disney’s 2014 promotion.  They want people to show their #DisneySide and share it with others.  I know I’ve loved seeing all the photos of people showing their Disney Side.  It’s made me really want to plan a trip to Disneyland, and soon!
Well as part of this promotion, I was lucky enough to be selected to host a Disney Side @ Home Celebration.  I was excited to put together a celebration that my kids would love and that they could invite their friends.
Since here in AZ we are experiencing rather warm winter days (80 degrees), I thought a play date at the park would be the perfect opportunity to get together.  We invited our friends and their moms to join us for a picnic and fun and to show their Disney side by wearing their favorite Disney character.
We wanted each of the kids that came to the party to be able to take a gift home with them so we made these treat bags.  I cut out a bunch of Mickey and Minnie heads and the kids helped me glue them to the bags.  They loved helping me, and I loved that they were all different!
For our picnic I special ordered pizza with the pepperoni in the shape of a Mickey head.  Can you see it!?!?!
The highlight of the food were these Mickey and Minnie cupcakes that I made.  I just made boxed cupcakes and topped them with my favorite chocolate frosting.  I used mini oreos for the ears and found these edible bows to use for Minnie’s bow.  I also wanted them to look more Minnie and put them in a red and white polka dot cupcake wrapper.

I used some runDisney cheer cards and made a score card for our hidden Mickey game.  Each kid got a card with 10 Mickeys and 2 Minnies to see if they could find the hidden Mickeys around the park.
Before the kids arrived, we hid our hidden Mickeys and Minnies all around the park.  The kids loved carrying around their “map” and marking off each one as they found it.  Once they found all of them, they got to choose a prize out of the prize box.  The kids absolutely LOVED this activity.  The kids that participated were aged 2 – 7 and they all had a great time.
Can you spot the hidden Mickey on the swing? 🙂
At the end of the party, these two were so happy! (even with fake smiles)  They had yummy food, played fun games and got to run around the park with their friends.  If was fun to see all the kids in their Disney gear.  We had princesses, pirates and even the hulk.
Look at all the fun stuff I was sent to help with the party.  There were decorations, paper goods, stuff for the kids goody bags and even stuff for a mommy gift.  Isn’t that print of Mickey and Minnie so cute!  I loved everything that was in my party kit and was so excited to celebrate our Disney Side.
We had such a fun time with our friends.  And I can’t get over the cuteness of these cupcakes! 🙂
GIVEAWAY!!
I did have one mommy gift and a few extras from my party kit that didn’t get used and would love to share them with you.  If you’d be interested in receiving a fun package full of some Disney fun, leave a comment telling me your favorite Disney memory.  I will randomly choose a winner and send off a fun package in the mail.

My favorite Disney moment: our three-year-old daughter twirled and twirled in her princess dress every chance she got a couple of summers ago at Disneyland…so much so, that she kept losing her sense of direction, then falling to the ground giggling!
I’ll never forget how happy she was!!
